I specifically purchased this item based on the product picture, which shows the plate that connects to the shelf/furniture item, to be rectangular, with the leg offset from the center. The legs that were shipped have a more square plate, and the legs are centered. The reason it makes a difference is that I need to install these on a narrow area, and these plates will extend past the area I need to attach it to.

These were super simple to attach to my IKEA bookcase. Ikea Kallax Bookcase Room Divider Cube Display I use this bookcase on its side as an entry table. These legs gave it a whole new look! Attaching the legs was simple. Getting the bookcase stood up on the legs, not so much. While doing so, two legs ripped out completely due to the weight of the bookcase. Next time I would definitely wait for someone to be around to help me get the bookcase upright with the legs.

These legs appear to be ok, but the mount surfaces are NOT perfectly flat, and I'm not talking about the edge that is apparently designed to clear the edge of an ikea cabinet. I am guessing that it wasn't a big design issue since these are really intended to go beneath something "ikea", but in my case, I need them flat, and will need to work the metal to make it so. Just a heads up for those planning to use for something other than an ikea cabinet. If you need a perfectly perpendicular mount you will need both shims and a means to work metal to perfect the mount. trying to make the leg perpendicular without doing so will mean tensioning mount screws to equal things out, or pounding the surface into wood to equal it out. Update, using bolts instead of the included screws allowed me to cinch everything down tight. THe leg looks a little crooked, but within acceptable limits.

These are clearly not original IKEA, since the packaging doesn't say IKEA on it and the build is slightly different (and lower quality) than the ones I bought years ago from IKEA. They're almost as good, but not quite as sturdy (but probably sturdy enough for lighter weight projects). However, IKEA doesn't make these in the 6 1/2" height any more, so I'm glad they're available if you really need CAPITA style legs in this height, but the price is too high for what they are. If they were actual IKEA or of the same quality as my old ones, then they'd be worth the asking price, but since they're not, you might as well try your luck with any other legs from unknown sources/brands since that's what you're getting here.

One of the legs stripped out while installing it. There is a plastic nut inside they screw inot and it just keeps turning like it came undone from the metal part. Mounting this into solid wood? sure, that might be a bit better. Mounting this inko an IKEA bookshelf made of thin veneer and cardboard? Nope, barely does what it needs to do. And once installed on that cardboard IKEA furniture, you cannot move it around unless you want to rip the legs out from the mounts. You have to pick the whole unit up and carefully move it and set it down carefully—NO sliding it around.

I needed something to lift a shelf above an office storage cabinet and these legs fit the bill perfectly. I have to prime and paint them (with metal safe spray paint), but once they're painted and protected with polyurethane, they'll be good to go! I'm attaching the legs to the shelf only since there is only one end that can be used to attach to something. That way, I can move the shelf if needed and not ruin my sold wood cabinet.

I’m using these with an IKEA Kallax unit to add an additional shelf. The Capita legs are okay for their purpose; however, the mounts are noticeably crooked causing the legs to be off about 5 degrees as well. These will work for now, but by OCD is telling me to replace them with something better.
