  • great sounding, easy to use
Had for a couple of weeks, paired with a Arturia keystep keyboard and three Korg Volca's. A blast to use, easy to learn for me, and very smooth synth sounds from the 80's the LFO is very good and the whole system has little background noise. My only complaint is that its powered by USB or batteries. No dedicated power only connector. I am not a fan of mini USB connectors. they tend to fail after some use. if it does I will modify it. Also as others have stated the software is fantastic, but your license can't be transferred I think this hurts the resale market, because the new owner will haver to register and PAY for the software... not a good deal... ... show more

  • This little guy is amazing! Super Synthy!! ♫
Wow! In all of my years of owning synthesizers(over 43), I would have to say this is the MOST impressive for the size and money!! It's super easy to play and has massive potential!! The arppegiator and sequencer really are quite good! LOTS of modulation potentials. Good filters and envelope! annd....it goes on! For two hundred....it's a NO BRAINER! Especially for you people who have NO synthesizer experience or knowledge! OH...and it sounds so BIG for a little "shrimp"! LOL! ♫♪ ... show more

  • Great Sound, Unreliable Performance
Of all my portable synths, this device is the funnest to play with and produces the best sounds! The software is great (it gives you a few more parameters to play with and let’s you back up and organize sounds), and I loved it the first week I had it! Unfortunately … It doesn’t work for long by battery. That was a disappointment because I’d purchased it to have an option for designing patches when I’m away from the studio. I could carry around several spare batteries, but … About a week in I decided to update the firmware. I’m not sure if the firmware update was the problem or if it was trying to use MIDI … but the device almost consistently gets an immediate ERR message a few seconds after turning it on, and if I make it past calibration it gets the error message after I play a few notes from another MIDI device. I haven’t had time to patiently troubleshoot it, so maybe it’s not a serious problem. I gave it 4 stars because the sound is (was) great, and with optimism that I’m only experiencing a temporary issue. ... show more

  • Small synth huge sound
If you are on a tight budget or just want a analog travel synth this is a no brainier. The size is Mickey Mouse but the sound is King Kong. Given the size, it's not the most intuitive interface for designing sounds and it helps to know your way around but there is a surprising amount of tweekability available there. The UNO, in my opinion, runs circles around those little toy Volcas. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Good BUT!!
Why are the cables so short that its almost impossible to make a connection? I had to get extensions for the midi and usb cable. Why did they put a 2.5 mm connection instead of a up to date 3.5 mm jack? I had to buy 2.5 mm to 3.5 converters. Also I had to switch out the midi 5 pin din female for a male connection for my interface to actually connect it. Pain in the A$$ overall. It has good sound for now. I will not recommend to buy unless you want be a slave to buy other other parts ... show more

  • The synth is really cool!
Things I like: Can save patterns and presets. Arpeggiator has many modes. If you connect the synth to computer you can store unlimited amount of sounds you make and load them any time into a synth. Computer app gives even more options for tweaking sounds. When registering the unit - register it to the whole new email address as if you gonna sell it in the future you will transfer license easier, otherwise new owner has to pay 20 bucks to transfer license for the software. Things I don't like: The body of my unit was curved. It does look like it comes like that from the factory as there is no damage signs at all. The body of the unit shakes when you press buttons on the right lower corner and I had to put two layers of double sided scotch tape to level the surface. Also sometimes my synth scroll presets on it's own and if I haven't saved preset I work on - it's gone... I feel like the unit I got was just a return item and I got it next as it was 149.99. I wonder if I'm right... ... show more

  • Terrible noise with USB power makes it essentially unusable
No matter what you connect the USB power to - computer, console, or grounded wall outlet - the noise is overwhelming. You are stuck using batteries which have a quoted "three hours of continuous use" spec, but the low bat warning starts flashing well before that. Basically this is a good product that fails miserably in the power department. They spent a lot of time packing in features but failed to address basic infrastructure needs. This unit should have a wall wart, not a USB power feed. If that meant increasing the price by $20, so what. Don't buy it, you'll just return it. Or buy a lot AA batteries. ... show more

  • Great piece of kit
I have a small studio and not a lot of room to have lots of equipment. I already owned the uno drum machine and absolutely love it. Both look nice and are easy to use.... My suggestion is to print off the manual and read it to get the most out of it. These machines do so much that it's easy to get lost but after you get the hang of it it's a snap... ... show more
