I am looking for a way to connect my condenser mic directly to an android phone, and I bought the product thinking that the digital connection would produce a better sound quality than the analog counterpart. My setup is running a sing-a-long app on the phone, so I can hear the music as well as my voice through the adapter, while my voice is being recorded by the app. Well the recorded sound does have good quality, but the sound from the monitoring jack is very noisy and a little distorted. I tried with a few different earphones but they all sounded the same. Too bad I would have to return this otherwise good product. Updated: being a tech head, I had suspicion that the distortion was caused by software incompatibility. So I managed to set up a iPad Mini and try again. Indeed the distortion was gone! My theory is that, during recording, the app/OS needs to process both the output and input digital signals, and it cannot do it fast enough, so some of the monitoring signals are dropped to ensure the input quality is as good as possible. Apparently iOS or the app on iOS is doing a better job encoding/decoding these digital signals fast enough to ensure quality. ... show more

Bought this so I could use one of my better xlr microphones when recording or live streaming through my Android phone. Seems to work as intended when using the app but not when using directly with the phone camera. Documentation does not address using as primary mic input to phone.

So, I purchased this one after my iRig DUO went out after 4 months. I host a podcast every day of the week and I can't be without an interface for more than just a couple of days as it definitely shifts the quality of the show. I ordered this one until I can figure out how to get the other one repaired and this one drains drains drains the battery like crazy! It takes 2 double a batteries and I have already changed them at least 4 times in just two weeks. I'm on my podcast for about 1 hour. Is this normal? I also hear a hum when I am speaking. I have made adjustments to the gain and volume, but the hum is still there. It comes and goes, but the problem is, I never know when it will come back. I would love suggestions on any other brand if anyone has had better luck. ... show more
