At the low price of $16, the iHome Glucose Monitor Kit is great. I really like that it is a complete kit. You get everything you need to start monitoring your glucose level. The kit includes lancets, lancet device, test strips, device and even the batteries. It works similar to most other devices, but also has instructions for newbies. It is easy to setup, learn how to work it, and to understand the readings. I do prefer other brands, but this monitor is great at this price point. I plan to use this as my backup device.

I really wanted to like this setup, especially because it comes as a complete kit with everything you need—100 strips, 100 lancets, the lancing device, and a nice little carrying case for travel. The initial setup was super easy with no coding required, and getting results in 5 seconds is definitely convenient when you’re in a rush. However, I’m giving it 3 stars mainly due to issues with reading accuracy and consistency. I tested my blood sugar three different times back-to-back without eating or drinking anything in between, and my numbers changed noticeably every single time. I’ve used a few other glucometers over the years and have never had that much variance between immediate repeat readings before. It’s really disappointing because I specifically bought this to keep in my bag as a reliable backup meter for when I'm away from home. While the minimal-pain lancing device works fine and the monitor itself is lightweight and portable, the inconsistency in the readings makes it hard to completely trust the numbers. It’s okay in a pinch, but I wouldn't rely on it as my primary everyday monitor.

I monitor my blood glucose for health reasons to stay low on blood glucose and not developing diabetes. I can afford the continuous monitoring device so I use these every evening to see where I am on the range of blood sugar. Easy to use and set up. I like the lancing device since it allows you to set the pressure for your finger. I use the lowest level since lancing daily can start hurting your finger. Since 100 strips will get me thru over 3 months of testing this is so much more of a value for you money. Will continue to buy more strips when needed.
