  • A work in progress
This is my first true cycling computer. I have relied on my Garmin Forerunner 645 for the past few years, and can only use this as my point of reference. The Forerunner is limited in its navigation capabilities, so I was hoping this device would address most of these. Out of the box, you are encouraged to download the iGPSPORT app and create a new account. The app had no issues finding the BSC300 and updating its firmware. For my first ride, I was playing with the buttons and accidentally interrupted the tracking, ending up with two separate rides on the 300, but one on my watch. The device allows you to customize the 8 default screens, displaying the metrics which are important to you. There are plenty of metrics available, and the screen is bright and perfectly sized. You scroll through the screens using the up and down arrow buttons on the right side of the device. This is not a touchscreen device, which I feel is a benefit. I tested the GPS and navigation on a 50-mile route I created in RideWithGPS which I was able to upload using the app. I first tried using an exported GPX file, but the app did not like that so I uploaded the course in FIT format. During navigation, I purposely went off course a few times to see how the device would respond. Each time it recognized I was off course approximately 650 feet from where I was supposed to be. It never rerouted me to get back on course, but only showed an arrow pointing to where the course is. When in navigation mode, and on the navigation screen, the device will display a directional arrow for an upcoming turn when you are within .3 miles, and will alert you with an audible tone and directional arrow when you are within 650 feet. When you are not on the navigation screen, you will only receive the audible alert and directional arrow within 650 feet. After you make your turn, you are not informed of the next turn until you are again .3 miles from it (only on navigation screen). I do wish it would always show the distance to your next turn. This would give the rider an idea of how long they can concentrate on the road without having to refer to the GPS. My Forerunner is always showing the distance to the next turn, so this is what I am used to. I was hoping this would be customizable from with the app, but I am yet to find any settings relating to this. After a subsequent 20 mile ride, I noticed some of the results were off. The device synced with my phone, showing a 20.03 mile ride over 1:15:03. However, what got uploaded to the site was a 19.35 mile ride during the same time. This leads to a lower average speed on the site than what synced to my phone. The max speed on their website is also different than what my phone is showing. I am not quite sure why the phone and the website are not the same, but it's obvious the two are storing different sets of data. I have included screenshots of a single ride for comparison. Also, these numbers all differ from my 645. Both devices recorded the same moving time, but the distance on my 645 shows a 20.20 versus 20.03 on the app and 19.35 on the website. My average heart rate also differs between devices which is odd as my 645 is paired with the BSC300 and is the source for heart rate. Max speed differs between my 645, the app and the website. While I don't analyze any of this beyond reviewing what the numbers are, it would be nice if they all agreed, especially the app and the website. I went back and looked at my first ride and the same issues were present there: most of the metrics differ between the app/device and the website. The battery life seems to be very good (maybe too good). After my 3-hour ride, the device showed 91% life remaining, using only 9% during that time. After sitting for a couple of days, and then riding for over an hour, the device still shows 91%. This seems a bit concerning as the usage didn't drop at all. Now, after a total of 9 hours of use, the devices still shows 77% remaining, which leads you to believe there is a nearly 40 hour life span, double what is speced. The supplied mount is adequate but I would recommend a compatible mount which does not use rubber bands to hold the device to the bike. The app is a bit cryptic in how it works. You first need to create a IGPSPORT account. If you want to sync with Strava, it will have you logout and log back in using the Strava button. This creates an entirely different account than the one you previously created, so none of your prior data will exist. Also, syncing does not seem to happen in the background. At least for me, I have to go into the app and wait (and wait, and wait) for the ride to sync. With Garmin, it's nearly instantaneous from when you save it on your device. I have mixed feelings about the device and the company. After over 9 hours of use, it is obvious it is not as well developed as a Garmin, Wahoo or Hammerhead may be. There are issues with its syncing, navigation and account creation (and maybe reported battery life). Also, while their privacy policy states they don't share your data, they are a China-based company and your privacy may be at risk. By default, all your routes are available to the public, but this is easily changeable in your profile settings. I am not sure if the low price makes up for the lack of comfort I feel in how the device operates. In the end, the lack of accuracy and navigation prowess leads me to believe this device needs a lot of work, especially if it wants to compete with the big names. ... show more

  • Good features at reasonable price
I wanted a bike computer that wouldn't cost a fortune. This model has more features than I am currently using (I don't have a cadence sensor) and after a slow set up everything is working. I ordered the heart rate monitor and 3 additional mounts for all my bikes. The app connects my phone to the HR armband and the computer and I also downloaded the manual to my phone because the included paper one was small and difficult to read. My only problem during familiarization was when trying to start the the computer for a ride it would instantly show the ride paused icon. I found the auto pause feature and after turning it off the computer ran as it should while I held it in my hand. I did a 21 mile ride to familiarize myself with the various screens and buttons and I'm quite happy with the function and screen visibility. The GPS tracked my route and offers directions to back track the return trip. I haven't yet downloaded any routes but that will be the next thing to try. Overall I'm very happy with both the monitor and the accessories and would buy it again. ... show more

  • Nice display. Easy sync. GPS is quick.
I've been using an iGPS630 for about a year now and liked it a lot. It's easy to use and worked well but I damaged it in a wreck. I bought the BSC300 to try something new and a little cheaper. It seems to obtain GPS faster from start. It is really impressive since it got GPS position inside my garage with the door closed. I usually have to go outside first. The display is very nice and easy to see day and night. I love the standard mount and the type C charge port. I dislike having proprietary mounts and charge adapters like some other computers. The iGPSport app for android is easy to use. My Samsung Galaxy A53 paired with the BSC300 instantly with the requisite permissions and Bluetooth access required. There are some setting on the app but the same are available on the computer. The buttons are easy to figure out. I like the revised main menu as compared to the iGS630. I also paired a cadence sensor from POWR Labs and a heart rate monitor from Moofit. The BSC300 picked them both up instantly and pulled in data with ease. I haven't used the radar warning as I don't have a radar yet. My damaged iGS630 is the current flagship and has a slightly larger screen. I really don't miss it though and find the BSC300 more than adequate. I can't think of anything I need that's not here. It's a great little computer with an excellent display. ... show more

  • Awesome by computer the last one you'll ever need
So this is an awesome bikw computer. The easy on off connection into the bike is beautiful The ability to display what you want or don't want on the screen. Events a Person like me with poor vision can set it up so that the information can be big enough to be seen. The size of the screen is perfect it's not too big and not too small. The best part, though, is being able to create a route And it'll tell you turn return where to go. It has color. Really I can't say enough about this computer. I currently don't have any sensors Right now but the ability to hook sensors up will be great for the future. The auto pause feature works perfectly. There are only two things o can say bad. First the manual. It mentions a DC plug which I don't see. Second is the buttons. Or actually the pictures on the top which I kept tubing meant to push these to Do that. Instead it means go to the side and push the Vuitton on the side. After a few days I stopped thinking that but it seems kind of weird to have the description of the action on the top but the actual button on the side. The buttons are simple enough to operate. If you're wasting the space on the top to have the description seems you might just have the button but I imagine internally. I love this bike omputer And look forward to using it for many years. ... show more

  • Feature Packed Bike Computer
I’ve been using my new BSC300 for a few days now, and I love it! Here are the highlights: The Good: Very customizable and intuitive interface. You can set many different data points on each of the scrollable page tabs. Clear display, even in the bright sun. The display is bright and crisp, even in direct sunlight. It will also automatically switch to light/dark mode, based on sunrise/sunset. The computer paired quickly and easily with my speed and cadence sensors. My previous computer had trouble connecting, and took multiple attempts to get them right, so this was refreshing. Unfortunately, I don’t have a radar, so I can’t speak to how well that works. GPS tracking was amazingly accurate on mountain bike trails deep in the woods. I’ve never had a GPS that tracked my ride as precisely as this one does. The navigation functionality works well, too. After pairing with my Strava account, my trips automatically upload after a ride. Very convenient! The Bad: Some of the text in the iGPSPORT app is poorly translated. It’s still very easy to use, but the wording is weird. Certainly not a deal breaker, as you don’t really use the app after initial setup. The wording on the bike computer itself is well worded, though. At this time, the company doesn’t seem to offer a bump case or screen protector. I’m assuming these will come out eventually, as this is a brand new item. ... show more

  • Colorful personalized themes And user-friendly interface.
This is my third IGP computer; I used it over the weekend as a replacement for my IGS620. The first thing I like about it is its design and size. (Especially carbon fiber-looking pattern frame around the screen.) The personalized colorful themes make it a lot easier to read and a very easy-to-use interface. It worked fine with all my ant+ sensors and received GPS reception much faster. For the price point, it is a great device to own with fantastic features. It will be my riding companion for a long time. ... show more

  • Top rate cycling computer!
A very capable and configurable bike computer. Would recommend for anyone from casual to serious rider. Initial setup is done on the device and then within the app. Multiple screens are configurable with a multitude of data points to choose from. Mounts on bike using standard bike mount. Screen is large and clear while riding even in direct sun. Backlit for night riding. Speaker for alerts. Supports all GPS types, Bluetooth 5.0 and ANT+. Supports all types of sensors I have found for cycling. Once setup, very easy to use. Just turn on, aquire GPS and ride! GPS track is extremely accurate and displayed on map within the app. Auto-pause feature detects stops instantly. Can switch between screens while riding with push of a button. App (iOS and Android) is well designed and easy to use. Displays and analyzes data after the ride and provides history. Syncs with major riding app. Have not used navigation feature yet, but will update once I have the chance. Overall impressed with this device. Can be configured to your liking and supports all major cycling sensors and apps. Using while riding is very easy. App provides all data after the ride for review and analysis. ... show more
