  • Confusing ESL english language manual, parts that don't fit
Size: 10-Pods Color: Black 10-pods
we were SO EXCITED to get this, watched dozens of youtube videos about it, etc. We receive it, put it together, and follow the process - FROM YOUTUBERS because their manual is absolutely the worst ESL english, it's not hard to read, it's impossible to follow. Complete and utter failure, it contradicts itself, gives confusing half-statements, sentences that make zero sense, etc. so you'd be completely lost and confused if you read their manual to try to figure this out. There are reference pages that you don't realize are important until later and nothing explains some phenomena: Problem 1: They include exactly an amount of 'stickers' to cover the seeds while germinating, and plastic domes. The stickers are too big, so the domes don't fit, you can trim around them with scissors (good luck!) but no matter what you do, the domes just fall off and fall over on their own because there's no 'rim' to snap them down on to and no flat surface for them to sit on, so they're all just teetering, sloppily. Problem 2: algae, because the stickers don't work and are made of titanium and adamantium (had to rip them off because the seedlings couldn't poke through them!) green algae then grows all over the tops of the sponges. What do I do now? I have no clue, there's nothing other than "keep the stickers on to avoid algae/mold" okay then what? do I throw the whole thing away now? What does algae do!? I don't have an agriculture degree i bought this because it was supposed to be easy and this manual tells you nothing! Problem 3: Pets, this isn't the manufacturer's fault, but if any one of these companies made a hydroponics set with a clear plastic or other pet shield either built in or as an add-on option, I'D BUY IT RIGHT NOW! just saying. Our cats are trying to eat all the seedlings, dang kitties! again not the maker's fault just throwing it out there. Problem 4: button sticker on top keeps lifting itself off. The top of this unit gets hot, so hot that it's own button membrane 'sticker' is lifting off and curves upward, so every morning I go and smoosh it back down and it pops back up every day. I suppose I can put ugly clear tape over it like a barbarian, yuck. Problem 5: no hand holding, no support, no community. I wish they invested into or referred users to SOMEWHERE to learn more about what to expect, what to plant, etc. we live in Denver, CO, and in April 2022 I planted the following, and after 30 Days the progress is: β€’ Thyme (Growing slowly, about 2" tall so far) β€’ Chives (seeds won't germinate) β€’ Basil (seeds won't germinate) β€’ Spinach (seeds won't germinate) β€’ Lettuce (Growing slowly, about 1" tall so far) β€’ Parsley (Growing Quickly, about 5" tall so far) β€’ Oregano (seeds won't germinate) β€’ Dill (Growing Quickly, about 8" long "vines" with lots of poofs of dill spice so far) So we know it's working, but as for the seeds that refuse to germinate (we did the water procedure to see which ones float etc.) we have no clue what to do, wait longer? start over? shrug! Anywho it works. ... show more

  • DEAD!
Size: 10-Pods Color: Red 10-pods
All it took was one power outage (hurricane Ian) and it is dead! The light burnt out even with a surge protector. I'm heartbroken. We had a great 7 months together 😞

  • I was wrong
Size: 10-Pods Color: Black 10-pods
I seriously thought it was a marketing gimmick to say these systems grow plants so much faster than soil, but I was wrong (happily)! I started micro dwarf tomatoes in seed starter in beginning of February. Then I started seeds for micro dwarf tomatoes in the iDoo a full month later. The hydroponics tomatoes are already getting ready to flower (mid April). Still waiting on the ones in soil! I'm shocked, and very excited. I swear, the plants grow so fast, they are bigger in the morning than when I went to bed the night before, lol. No problems with the light timer, pump works fine. Weirdly, tho, I have noticed the plants on the side where the pump directs the water grow just slightly smaller than the other side of the unit. I thought that was odd, but maybe it's because the water is disturbed unevenly. I do like the AG pump system better, how it bathes the seeds with nutrient solution instead of just pushing the water to one side, but it's not really a big deal, the plants are all still growing and healthy. All in all I would say this is a really easy system for anyone just starting out with hydroponics and would recommend and strongly encourage you give it a try if you enjoy growing things. These units can grow food (vegetables), herbs, and flowers very easily. You really just have to pay attention to how large the plant will be full grown. You obviously will not be able to easily take care of 10 cherry tomato plants all at once. One or two, sure. If growing herbs, depending on what you're growing, you can do more plants. If you're going to grow something that's bigger than a dwarf plant, you'll have to learn some pruning skills, but honestly, it's easy. Go for it! ... show more

  • Growing lettuce
Size: 10-Pods Color: White 10-Pods
Works great! Easy to start from scratch with some very good YouTube reviews and instructions. Unless you are using it for just starts, I would recommend spacing out the plants and not loading all the plugs. Also find seeds for plants that aren’t going to grown outside of the reach of the LED lighting system. I tried normal tomatoes and they quickly blocked the light for all the other plants I had started. I would think this is a really cool way to get kids into growing their own fruits and vegetables! ... show more

  • Great for growing herbs and tomatoes inside.
Size: 10-Pods Color: White 10-Pods
I've had two of these for the last few months it's been very enjoyable. I was able to grow numerous herbs from seed, including basil, parsley, dill, and oregano. I also dedicated one of my units to cherry tomatoes and the tomatoes are going crazy.

  • This is so much fun!
Size: 10-Pods Color: White 10-Pods
I am enjoying watching my seeds grow! I haven't harvested yet so may come back for more. Would love to see more documentation and help, as some steps were 'assumed' and skipped (like do I take the sticker off once it sprouts? like when is the right time to remove plastic cup? like how to know the right number of seeds to drop depending upon seed size (plat type)? more details on the process, please. Otherwise, it's been super fun. ... show more
