As a Vrbo traveler, I like the convenience of this hanger for pants and hats, etc. I bought a different “cuter” one that broke immediately. I did add some stick on pads to the back to protect doors and prevent rattling. I would recommend.

Possibly more like 3.5 stars; I may have gotten unlucky, so I rounded up. This rack seemed quite sturdy, especially considering the price. I liked its aesthetics (doesn't take up much visual space), its potential utility, and the curved ends of its hooks (won't leave indentations on fabrics). However, I ended up having to return both my original rack and its replacement. The first unit arrived with a ton of chips in the chrome finish that were noticeable even when viewing it from a distance. It had been shipped with another metal object and neither one was inside a plastic slip cover, so I suspected that was the problem and returned it to Amazon for a replacement. The replacement didn't have any chips in the finish, but most of the welding joints (where the hooks attach to the base) were sloppy and rough. I wanted to overlook that, but on a few of those joints the metal was so sharp that it was guaranteed to snag clothes and possibly hurt someone if their hand grazed it. The welding joints on the original unit weren't particularly smooth, either, but I wasn't concerned about them damaging items. I have quite a few InterDesign products in my home, including several chrome items, and I've never experienced problems like this, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Also, none of the other reviewers mentioned the same flaws. This might be a stretch, but it's possible that they altered their manufacturing: the first rack I received had their old logo and colors on the packaging, while the second had their updated design. Most likely, though, that was simply a branding change and nothing more. In the end, I didn't feel like chancing it a third time. I'd prefer to find it in a brick and mortar store in order to compare several racks. Perhaps I'll give it another shot if I don't find an alternative; if so, I'll update my review. ... show more

I would've rated this 2.5 stars for one out of my two units being defective, but I was forced to round. I've purchased two of these racks and while one has worked flawlessly, the other arrived with a bent arm (the one meant to hook over the door). I'm a pretty easygoing fellow and a slight bend is acceptable, but the arm in question tweaked the rack around 20° from the door. This hampers the rack's ability to offload the weight of your hung items to the door. Now I wasn't worried and it was probably just bent during shipment. Which is weird considering it was the sole item in an undamaged, large box. "But hey, no worries! I'll simply unbend it to a more agreeable condition." Haha! Immediately upon lightly flexing the arm back towards its intended position the other, uncompromised arm snapped off! Now, if the good arm can't tolerate any bending or force post-weld, how can the other? I suspect that it probably can't, and the issue most likely occurred somewhere at the manufacturing facility. Disgruntled employee perhaps. I included some images showing the defect and did my best to show the entire rack so as to prove that I'm not manipulating the unit out-of-frame. I used flat surfaces and the arm I snapped off as well as my other rack to accurately depict the bending. Again, my other rack fulfills it's purpose without error but this review is not about that rack. It's not even about my defective rack. This review is about how I experienced a 50% failure rate (thus far) and if it can happen to me, it can happen to you too. Odds are that you won't have any issues, but be prepared to receive a defective unit. I will update this review if the seller contacts me in response, and will change my rating to five stars should they replace my unit, because frankly, these are good racks...when they're straight. ... show more

    • Convenient Way to Add Storage Hooks to Any Room

I recently got a pair of kittens, and they quickly learned how much fun it is to pull all the towels off the towel racks in the bathroom and leave them wadded on the floor (thanks, guys!). In an attempt to find a higher, more secure place to hang my towels and save them from that kittenish fate, I gave this over-the-door rack a try. It's perfect! The six hooks provide ample space for several towels, and the rack itself fits perfectly over the door without affecting its ability to open and close. I usually use those removable plastic hooks that stick on the wall without marring the paint, but those can't always handle the weight of a wet towel. I find that this rack easily handles three large towels, and the towels dry just as fast as they would on my regular towel bars. It's a little thing, but I like knowing I won't find my towels in a messy pile when I get out of the shower. This is one of those things you didn't know you needed until you try it out -- who doesn't need a little more space to hang things up? Once the kittens outgrow their dump-everything-on-the-floor phase, I plan on repurposing this to hold jackets and tote bags in my bedroom or home office. It's ridiculously convenient. ... show more
