Overall, these bookshelves are really beautiful and sturdy. They look great, and feel very sturdy! They far exceed the quality I would expect for the price! The shelves are fixed sizes, but both the 3- and 5-shelf version have relatively larger and smaller shelves that can fit a wide variety of books of all sizes. Assembly is very easy but time consuming. The instructions are clear, everything is labeled well, and it's basically impossible to mess up assembly. The vast majority of assembly is cam-and-lock, with a few screws that have pre-drilled holes. That said, it takes about two hours per bookcase to assemble (and after assembling three in a row, my thumbs were thoroughly blistered over from all the screw-tightening!). Note: these bookcases include more spare parts than indicated! I freaked out after assembling my first one when I had 3 spare dowel pegs instead of 2... but then later found out that all bookcases I assembled had more extra parts than indicated in the instructions. Overall, construction and engineering on these bookcases is solid. The finish is textured (i.e., it's not just a flat finish, but there are actually grooves you can feel where the "rings" in the wood are). I also appreciate that the back of the bookcase is study plywood that gets screwed into every. single. shelf. (whereas some competitor products are just cardboard backing that easily rips and does not support book weight). The decorative flourishes, including baseboard moulding (and crown moulding on the 5-shelf bookcases) are really nice. These bookcases DO need some very minor customization to be perfect. First, as pictured, it's pretty common for parts to have minor imperfections. These can be fixed with a nice wood finish stain marker (I used a dark walnut stain marker and it fixed basically all imperfections in the wood). Second, the cam locks do not have covers (and thus there are bright silver shiny cam locks visible inside each shelf). I bought some black cam lock covers off Amazon, which make this furniture look amazing! As a final note, the tall 5-shelf bookcases naturally lean backward (the 3-shelf version does not do this). So, the 5-shelf bookcases are only appropriate where they can lean against a wall. Otherwise, the 3- and 5-shelf version of this bookcase are perfectly aligned and can be mixed and matched as desired for whatever interior design you're going for! So, if you want these fantastic bookshelves, just plan on spending an additional $20 on a wood-finish stain marker (available on Amazon) and some black cam lock covers (also available on Amazon).

It took me a couple of hours to put it together while watching TV. The instructions were easy to follow. I ran into one snag where two of my pieces were labeled as part 2 and there wasn't any 1. I was afraid I had the wrong pieces after it was half put together. After carefully inspecting the pictures I figured out I was ok and the one number was just wrong. It is a very nice bookcase! It looks so much better than the old cheap ones I had. The little details make it look way more expensive than it is. It is very sturdy too. Even the back pieces you actually screw into the wood instead of hammering those little tacks into the back. Very classy! I spent a long time searching for the perfect bookcase online and am thrilled I ended up with this one! I got the grey-colored. I took a gamble that it would match other pieces of furniture I have that were labeled as "greige" (grey/beige shade)... it is a very close, if not exact, match.

I initially expected it to be a bit lighter in color based off the images, but over time, I grew to appreciate it. The color adds a nice contrast to my grey vinyl flooring, making the space feel more vibrant. It also offers plenty of room for books, which is a great bonus. The quality is impressive—it feels sturdy, especially once the back panel is secured. I’m even considering purchasing another one in the future. Overall, it’s a well-made and stylish addition to my home.

All of the listed dimensions are correct, each shelf holds a good amount of weight, and the instructions were straight forward. The color of the bookcase leans more towards brown then the red shown for the cherry finish. However, even after adding in the back panels the bookcase still sways too much if you push on the sides. Even after re-tightening the screw joints, you can push and sway the bookcase to one side. The back panels are made from a plastic material rather than more mdf. For how much the support of the bookcase requires the backing to stay strong, I was hoping for a stronger material. The MDF boards are not fully wooden. Meaning that the bookcase is made from thin wood fiber, plastic, resin, and wax. The shelves and sides that use the mdf are sturdy and hold together well but clearly do not look like real wood. Overall this is a decent bookshelf for the price. The wood grain texture is nice, the shelves are strong, and it is fairly easy to put together. Just make sure it is in a place that won't get knock into.

I purchased 2 of these bookcases and they came undamaged and easy to assemble. They seem pretty sturdy and hold items well. They are slim and perfect for the room we placed them in which needed the extra touch with these decorative shelves. We placed some heavy items in the shelves which are 12 inches deep and all has held up well so far with all the weight of the items. They do come with hardware to secure them to the wall if needed. We had purchased side tables, a coffee table, and a console table that perfectly fit/match these bookcases just over a year ago. Those have all held up very well. Great deal for the price.
