No problem with the 1.5 inch bit itself, but I was ran this on a Makita RT0701c 1.25hp router. That is what is used with my longmill MK2 cnc. I had all the speeds set as suggested here, but the router got fried and tripped the breaker. No worries, it was about 8 months old and had some miles on it. Swapped it out with a new one and went to flatten the MDF spoil board, just taking off .5mm. Poof....2nd router went up in smoke.

I replaced an older 3 flute bit with this 4 flute bit. Couldn't be happier. I smoothed both sides of a slab of cherry log 20 inches in diameter and three inches thick. I plan to turn it into a clock with the help of the CNC.

I was previously using a 1" Whiteside surfacing bit and I ordered this after burning up my makita router. I Talked with Garrett who has helped myself a couple of times already and this bit is absolutely hands down awesome.

I struggle to find great surfacing bits for CNC. This one advertised that it will have an incredibly smooth surface. It is a good bit, but still leaves faint lines and probably leaves poplar to a 60 grit finish. Most lines will be gone after sanding. Still, worth 4 stars for sure
