Very solid wood, easy to assemble, works with traditional or transitional decor. Unsure of stain yet, but will keep close to natural. Similar tables at pottery barn are seeking between $600 and $800 right now. Would purchase from this manufacturer again.

The media could not be loaded. I wanted to wait until I stained it to post a review, to see how well it took stain. I love this table! It's a very heavy, sturdy wood, which is most of the reason I bought it. I've seen other coffee tables, more expensive than this one, that are made of particle board. I was looking for something that would last a long time, and I think I've found that. The only assembly that had to be done when it arrived was attaching the four legs, and the bottom platform, so it was very minimal. It came with the screws and washers. It was baby smooth when it arrived, so no sanding had to be done before it was stained. It took the stain very well. I put the stain on, and immediately wiped it off, or it would have been much darker. We stained this table with Behr oil-based stain in the color Early American, and sealed it with Minwax Wipe on Poly in Clear Satin. So far, I have nothing negative to say about this table. I feel that the price was good, considering it is real wood. It seems to be sturdy enough to last many years, with proper care. I'll try to remember to post a follow up review in a few months, and Let you know if I still love it! ... show more

I wanted a longer, solid wood coffee table for my smaller living room, and this table is the perfect fit. I have various other pieces of solid wood furniture from International Concepts that have stood the test of time quite nicely, so I already trust this brand. For the first time in all of the purchases I've made of this brand of unfinished furniture, one of the legs split when I went to bolt it in (as seen in the picture in this review). I contacted customer support for International Concepts, fully prepared to need to purchase a new leg, but they had all of my information readily available and promptly shipped me a replacement at no cost to me. It is difficult to find a company that stands behind their products so faithfully, and I definitely want to recognize them for that. After finishing all of the pieces with dark walnut Danish oil, it fits in well with the rest of my living room and will likely last beyond my lifetime. ... show more

The Table arrived with a chip in the edge of the table done in manufacturing not in shipping.Too much trouble to repackage and return due to the weight. Buyer beware!!
