These were installed in a 2011 Hyundai Elantra. The bulbs themselves were as easy to install as the original incandescent bulbs, although this vehicle requires removal of the entire tail light assembly to replace this bulb. This bulb produces a more pure Red color than the original incandescent bulb. It looks very nice and bright. The brake light is noticeably brighter when the brake is pressed too, although likely less difference than the original bulb. The design of the bulb with LEDs all around plus additional LEDs facing front provide perfect light distribution. They look great. The bulb is also significantly cooler than the original bulbs. The socket was showing signs of heat from the original bulbs, so this should prevent future damage. It will also use less energy from the electrical system, another plus. It is too soon to know how long this bulb will last. Theoretically they should significantly outlast the incandescent bulbs, but I've had mixed success with LED bulbs. Expectation of long life is why I chose this LED bulb though. This vehicle requires the entire tail light assembly to be removed to replace this bulb, and incandescent bulbs have already failed several times. I am an absolute critic, and these LED bulbs are bright. over the years I have not been impressed with LED bulbs but I see why thousands of customers have rated these so highly. 10 minutes after I receive these from Amazon I went back online and ordered more. Easy drop-in replacement. Actually easier than the original bulbs because these are smaller. And they are bright as the sun. My son and I installed them at night. I was squatting a few feet behind the vehicle and had him hit the brakes to test them. They were so bright that they left a spot in my vision for a while. ... show more

After 2 months in use these work well as combo brake/tail lamps in my 2017 Santa Fe Sport. Very bright in brake mode, dim down in taillight mode, as they should. Instant response. Most turn signal diodes require a certain voltage to determine if a bulb is out. Since these LED bulbs use a lower voltage, they often trigger a vehicle to believe the bulb is out and will cause it the rapid flash on and off instead of the normal turn signal speed. I'm still working on resolving this issue so I can utilize this bulb as a replacement for the traditional halogen orange bulb. ... show more

I bought another type of R5W LED bulb and it fit the base but it was too wide to fit through the hole (about 18mm). These fit at about 16mm. Nice and bright. Trying to photograph them lit is like trying to photograph the sun.
