Description

Beautiful Burl Top, Stunning 6-string Performance The Ibanez BTB846 6-string bass is one of those rare beauties that can call to you from across the room and demand to be played. Its poplar burl top looks like something you'd see in a collector's magazine, but the price tag doesn't. Nonetheless, once you get your hands on the BTB846's comfortably contoured multilayer body, feel the power of the neck-through construction, and hear the electronics in action, you'll know how much you lucked out by picking up this special bass. A quick overview reveals a layered ash-over-okoume wing design beneath the poplar burl top, with a solid 5-piece maple and walnut neck running the full length of the instrument. Add a 6-piece Mono-rail V bridge to the mix, and you have sustain for days with ideal string-to-string isolation. This lends extra clarity to the BTB846's Bartolini BH2 dual-coil pickups, and when you

  • Killer Bass - Boutiquee Level Quality at an Affordable Price
I've owned a few 6-string bass guitars and work as a professional musician. I normally play 5-strings, but also play 6-strings a lot. For the craftsmanship, quality and price this bass is unbelievable. If someone just handed it to me I would have thought it was like at least $2,000. It looks, sounds and feels like a boutique quality bass. If you're a professional player like I am and know your way around a 6-string, you won't stop receiving complements on how killer this bass is. I love the mono rail bridge especially, the Bartolini pickups are super punchy but you can also flatten out the sound if you're looking for minimal treble and mid-range. And, to me it's the perfect amount of natural wood beauty with the pop of blue. Can't say enough good things about it. I did have to make some minor adjustments to eliminate fret buzz on the B string, but this was easy to do as the truss rod is so easily accessible and again the mono-rail bridge lets you adjust each individual string. 2 thumbs and 2 toes up. ... show more
