  • Ibanez quality
Ibanez never dissapoints. SDGR body and neck is super comfortable and light. Great bass, looks and sounds killer.

  • Great with one flaw
It's a great playing and great sounding bass. It holds drop A perfectly which is what I wanted it for. However, the satin finish is abrasive, and starts to rub your arm raw after a while of playing, particularly if you are sweaty. Due to this, I have taken to playing with my arm hovering over the body of the bass rather than resting on it. This takes considerably more stamina to do. But I do it because otherwise, my arm hurts. Still, it is a great instrument in all other aspects, so I gave it four stars. If you plan on playing it live, maybe consider a similar bass that has a gloss finish instead. ... show more

  • Great guitar at a great price
After playing guitar and bass guitar for three decades, I finally paid to have a multi-scale bass. This is my first guitar review after purchasing about 9 guitars, and also the most money I've spent on any of them. I only write this review because of how happy I am. :) Tone. While I purchased this guitar from Sweetwater.com, and their guitar set-up service may have played some factor towards its current quality, it sounds great. Minimal buzz on the E and B, even with poor angle of attack. The key here is literally the multi-scale phenomena, the B and E have increased tension, so you can play them like the other strings on the bass. More tension, more firm, more consistent, less buzz. Almost immediately, I was sold. I am shocked that the multi-scale bass is not more quickly becoming the norm. The Scale. I would have to agree with other reviewers that it took me about 90 seconds to come to terms with the multi-scale. It is not noticeable in the middle of the fret board, not pertinent to the bottom of the fret board, and occasionally makes you think during the high notes on the fret board. That is to say, I've only hand trouble on the D and G strings up by the 1st or 2nd fret, and the rest of the board is either the same or better. I am so pleasantly surprised by this, I can't say enough about it in praise, and I question why other instruments don't use this technique. Flat Black paint. I have been really frustrated in the past by how my hands stick to the neck during transitions up and down the fret board. This style of paint has been one of the most pleasant and forgiving textured feelings I've ever had on a guitar, and it makes me uncomfortable as I think about how my playing would have been in the past gliding against such a smooth neck while I had such damp hands. Again, I can't say enough kind words about it. A crazy-easy fix for a frustrating problem. I hope this feature is available in every guitar in the future. In summary, I was afraid to buy a multi-scale 5-string, but on purchase I realized most of what I was afraid of was actually a benefit. This is one of the (THE?) lowest price multi-scale bass guitars, and it is high quality and lives up to all of the hype. The multi-scale is easy to adapt to, the neck feels great, and the guitar sounds nice as well. This is a no-regrets purchase. This is my "forever guitar". It does all the things, and I love it. :) ... show more
