Description

Despite inheriting the sleek and sophisticated beauty of the revolutionary SR bass, the SR Mezzo was designed to be fun to play. The SR Mezzo's 32 medium scale allows for both easy playing and a rich low-end. The SR Mezzo's full sonic palette will make hitting the stage a blast. No matter the style of music, the SR Mezzo fits you perfectly. The SR Mezzo's 32 scale neck is 2 shorter than that of the general Ibanez SR models, but the Mezzo stills delivers a powerful low end. The SR Mezzo's compact, lightweight body and shorter scale offer effortless playability. The SRMD200 features a Poplar body, stunning new finish and a newly-designed pickguard. A smooth Maple neck and Maple fretboard with medium frets allow for a clear tone and attack. Electronics consist of an Ibanez Custom Electronics 2-band EQ and an Ibanez DXP neck pickup and DXJ bridge pickup for extra punch. The B15 bridge allows fully adjustable intonation and solid tuning stability. Full Sound That Fits! Ibanez introduces the latest chapter of the ongoing SR story, the SR Mezzo! • Good bass for the money
The main reason I bought this was the 32 inch scale as I have a short scale 30 inch bass however the "B" 5th string can get out of tune on it. On this bass the 5th string stays more in tune. The body, neck and frets are good, the bass is comfortable to play. You may want to change the strings as the ones that came with mine were a little too bright for my taste. The only negative is my jazz pickup hums when I turn it up, other than that a good 5 string bass for all levels that is easier on the hands with the 32 inch scale. ... show more

  • Don't underestimate the price tag!
A lot of people assume that instruments below the six-hundred dollar range are not worth their time; this is simply not the case with this bass! Upon arrival, the bass was sleek, clean, and very comfortable to hold. After a few tweaks to the saddles and pickups, it played just like a thousand dollar instrument, if not better! The only differences between this bass and some of the higher-end instruments are that the hardware is cost-efficient, the nut is more of a plastic material, and that the neck has more of that "wood" texture as opposed to having the lacquer on it. Overall, this is truly one of the best basses I have ever played. ... show more
