So happy I bought this bass. Has a nice deep sound and the quality I expect from a company like Ibanez. I was able to get this discounted because of a "large cosmetic defect", but I must be blind because it looks as good as it sounds. This was definitely one of the better buys I've made.

  • Great overall quality bass!
Pattern: Guitar
I have played guitar for 3 years and this bass is one if the most well made and nice sounding Ive ever played, the low ends sound phenomenal with the active pickups the neck is smooth the frets are round nicely the tone knobs are fully functional and it feels great in my hands, all in all well designed and beautiful sounding, it is the pride and joy of my ever growing collection and I would recommend an Ibanez to anyone wether experienced or just starting to learn! ... show more

  • Can't beat the bass for the price
Pattern: Guitar
This bass sounds amazing. I can hardly believe the $250 price tag. If you're looking for a starter 5 string, look no further. I do recommend getting a coat of varnish or something, because when you slap/pluck, if you have any fingernails at all, you'll dig into the finish on the face of the bass. But you know, instruments are made to be used. Still, I personally would like to keep it looking as good as it does now. I did have to adjust the neck tension/string height to get the fret buzz out of the strings, but I'm guessing that's in large part due to the factory strings (like most basses I've used). I'd order some Markley's or Elixir's with the bass if I had it to do over. As it is, I'm going to right now! ... show more

  • It's a 5-string bass
Pattern: Guitar
The quality one can get with cheap guitars these days is pretty amazing. I needed a bass guitar to record an album with, nothing exquisite, just needed it to hold down the low-end frequencies. This worked great. There is indeed a reason to buy more expensive guitars, for the comfort and quality of playing, but this bass will do the job and I actually like the look of it a lot, surprisingly. I normally hate the color brown but it seems appropriate in this case. If you're looking for a 5-string bass to try, try this one. If you're a beginner especially, you won't be disappointed. ... show more
