Description

Don't be fooled into thinking the Ibanez GSR micro is a toy. It’s made to the same high standards of the other GIO series guitars. The Gsrm20 features, small scale SR body, full sound pickups, the same construction, same materials, and same set-up and inspection as its full size counterparts. Its shorter 28. 6” scale makes it perfect for tour buses, space-restricted home studios, folks with smaller hands, as well as young rockers or beginners.

  • Great fit for smaller hands
Color: Walnut Flat Style: 4-String
Great Bass for a decent sound. A little time setting nut height, neck relief and pick up heights and it was off to the races!! Smaller handed adult, easy to play and comfortable as it weighs less than a full size bass. So far so good, more than worth the price in my opinion

  • Great Bass for the player with normal hands! Great Bass for the player with normal hands!
Color: Walnut Flat Style: 4-String
After tuning it, I tried it out. It's great having a smaller bass with great sound like this Ibanez! It looks great, sounds good, and is responsive. One of the best things is that it's on the smaller side, enough that those of us who aren't wide receivers or have long fingers can easily play it! I'm thrilled I spent a little more to get an Ibanez over the lower-priced basses. The price is still very reasonable, and Ibanez has an excellent reputation for quality instruments. ... show more

  • Nice little bass with some work... Nice little bass with some work...
Color: Starlight Blue Style: 4-String
I ordered the blue Mikro bass from Amazon in late 2023 on a discount deal and did not receive it until late January. There appears to be some supply chain issues with these. That being said, I did finally get it and was happy with the overall look of the bass. I am a guitarist, but I like to play some bass now and then. I have a Squire P Bass but the scale length is a bit tough for me to get used to. I had played the short scale Mikro at GC and really liked it. There were some QC issues with the GC model like fret sprout, but I expect those kind of things with a sub $200 instrument. On first inspection, I did notice all of the tone and volume nuts were loose so I had to fix that. I played the one I got for a little while and it had a similar fret sprout issue that the GC one had. It also did not want to stay in tune very well. I finally pulled the strings off and carefully worked the fret ends with a fret file. The fret board was very dry so I applied some F1 oil. On the reassembly, i began to notice quite a few quality issues. First, all of the tuner nuts and screws were loose. Not a big deal, tightened. After seeing the tone knob issue and now this, I decided to check everything. All of the bridge screws were loose and some were not seated - a couple turns out (see photo). One was completely stripped out and would not tighten up. I went ahead and plugged the stripped hole and redrilled it. Everything is fine on it now and I really like the bass. The finish is great and feels good to play. If you have played guitar for any length of time you have probably fixed issues like this on your own guitars or have a good tech that can address them. If I didn't like the bass, I would have just sent it back. For the money and a little time put into it I'm still pleased with it. There are not many short scale basses out there to choose from. I like Ibanez products but I wish they would have put a little more care into the bass I bought. ... show more

  • A Bass Guitar, that's made for Guitar Players!
Color: Starlight Blue Style: 4-String
I've been playing guitars for over 30 years and on many guitars. I messed around with a Squire bass guitar many years ago, but it was huge and heavy, traded it in. I have 4 Ibanez guitars and was intrigued by the Ibanez Micro Short Scale Bass. It's the size of a guitar, weighs around 6 1/2 pounds and sounds amazing, easy to play and a lot of fun. Definitely can be used on Stage, tuning keys are ok, pick-ups, ok too. Someday I'll upgrade the pickups and tuning keys, but not a rush, this Bass is plain fun to play! ... show more

  • A real joy to play, not just for beginners or kids.
Color: Metallic Purple Style: 4-String
Although I also play full scale bass guitars, this fun little short-scale bass is a real joy to play. It looks, feels and sounds great and plays like a dream. Great value and quality for the price. Nothing to complain about. Highly recommended for both beginners and experienced players.

  • Great bass sound, in compact package
Color: Weathered Black Style: 4-String
Great bass when a more compact size is needed. It's basically the same size as a guitar. I replaced the strings on mine with flat wounds, bc I prefer that kind of sound. Easy, and the strings that came with it, are quality rounds. Tuners are quality and work well holding tune. I didn't need any setup, the neck was flat and perfect distance set at bridge. It's a great bass, and only the top 1% could hear the difference. I have a full size Yamaha, and they sound nearly identical. I do like feel like the single coildnp and j pickups are little low on the quality side, but for this price, I think they're right on the money (pun intended). ... show more

  • The Guitar Player's Perfect Guilty Pleasure Short Scale Bass! The Guitar Player's Perfect Guilty Pleasure Short Scale Bass!
Color: Weathered Black Style: 4-String
Just my opinion, but this just might be the guitar player's perfect guilty pleasure short scale bass! With its remarkably short 28" scale, it's so comfortable, balanced, light & easy to play! Amazingly inexpensive. Flawless fit & finish (at least mine was right out of the box - and in a really gorgeous matte slightly textured weathered black finish w/all black hardware). Just one minor out of the box issue - slight buzzing, but only on the E string and only when fretting the E on the first fret. So, possibly the second fret needed/needs minor dressing - but that was more than I wanted to attempt, so instead I simply raised the E string a hair at the bridge and the buzz was instantly gone, with no effect on E string volume that I could detect. The pickups sound fine to me. A true little gem at a truly bargain price. (Note - the gig bag was not included - it was a separate purchase - but for the price what can you expect?!) ... show more
