Caveat: I used this kibble as a training treat for my not especially food motivated pup. My pup does not care for 99% of training treats intended for dogs, and he eventually loses interest in those that he does not immediately turn his nose up. I spend an inordinate amount of money rotating treats. I use different kibble than what I feed him as a low-/medium-value in our rotation. My pup loves fish/salmon, so I thought that I would try this out. The bag was a pain to open, but the food grabbed my pup's interest as soon as he caught a whiff. It is not as smelly as many other kibbles in general, much less those with fish in them. This surprised me given that salmon is one of its advertised ingredients. After taking a closer look, the primary ingredient is chicken, followed by four different grains and by-product, and *then* salmon, followed by several other ingredients, and *then* fish oil. IAMS is reported to be compliant with the WSAVA's nutrition guidelines, so I'm not going to harp on its nutritional value, but its advertising seems misleading here. The kibble itself is somewhat harder and crunchier than other kibble, but my pup was content enough to gobble it up during our training sessions. This bag will last for a decent amount of time due to its repurposed use as training treats, but I will not be continuing its use. I will stick to options that actually include fish as the primary/secondary ingredients rather than well down the list. ... show more

Yet another different food brand that I found which I wanted to give to my pup. And yet again, she was just as happy to eat it all up. This was a smaller bag than what I'm used to getting so it of course didn't last very long. She went through it in about a week and she's a small dog. As any pet owner would want when having their pet try a new food, no sickness issues to report, and her energy was as high as ever.
