Description

A funny debut picture book about how one little ramen packet finds self-love and belonging in a spaghetti-obsessed world. Even from Ramen's small shelf in the supermarket, they see spaghetti propaganda everywhere. They want to be celebrated, too. Maybe, Ramen misguidedly thinks, I have to change to be loved like that. "I want to be spaghetti!" they proclaim to the dismay of the rest of the instant noodle section. But when Ramen's brought home and placed in a warm bowl of broth alongside new friends like Chashu, Narutomaki, and Nori, they realize they've always been perfect exactly the way they are. Colorfully illustrated by Claudia Lam (@theforestmori), this heartwarming story about identity and community from food writer Kiera Wright-Ruiz (@kierawrr) celebrates the beauty of being yourself --and being recognized for who you are. • Such a fun and important book for littles!

  • New favorite bedtime book!
Format: Hardcover
I originally saw this book in a store, didn't get it, and regretted it. I got copies for my nieces and nephews (niblings, if you will) and it is the latest hit. As an enthusiast of both pasta and ramen, myself, I have to agree that this is a pretty awesome kids book. Kudos to the people who created it. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • A bit heavy handed
Format: Hardcover
I love the idea of this book, but I will say, maybe not for everyone. I think if your child is already struggling with feeling different compared to others, they could possibly identify with this book and really appreciate it? But it wasn’t the right fit for our three year old’s home library as it was a bit heavy, and I didn’t want to introduce a book that already started off feeling angsty - I was just looking for a fun book to read to a toddler about Asian foods and this is decidedly a bit heavy. ... show more
