I originally saw this book in a store, didn't get it, and regretted it. I got copies for my nieces and nephews (niblings, if you will) and it is the latest hit. The message of this book is so absolutely important for littles to read and know to be true: you are perfect just the way you are. The fun and unique way in which this message is shared makes this book a must have for every kids library. Not to mention the absolutely adorable art work!     • A bit heavy handed
I love the idea of this book, but I will say, maybe not for everyone. I think if your child is already struggling with feeling different compared to others, they could possibly identify with this book and really appreciate it? But it wasn’t the right fit for our three year old’s home library as it was a bit heavy, and I didn’t want to introduce a book that already started off feeling angsty - I was just looking for a fun book to read to a toddler about Asian foods and this is decidedly a bit heavy. ... show more

She is seven and loves to read. She is trying to find a favorite author so she gets more books. This one was a gift and I picked it because she has shown interest in fun stories. The reviews were helpful
