I came a bit late, and a bit haphazardly, to The 1975. I had the debut album for a year before I really dove into it, and discovered album cuts that were just fantastic as the singles they released. It's rare that a first album is that deep (though an asterisk should be there, as there were EP's to test drive the material), but they pulled it off. This album is just as good. That's in spite of me not digging UGH and Love Me upon first listen (they grew on me). Then The Sound came out, and I pre-ordered it a couple of listens later. I have no idea which single will be next, but it would be great if it were Paris, a up-tempo and lively song about...going to Paris. Following it directly on the tracklist is Nana, about Matt Healy's grandmother according to NME (and which has a hypnotic bass tone to it). His singing remains somewhat opaque, by design one hopes. He doesn't sound like early Michael Stipe (REM ), but the effect is the same. He's building an ambiance rather than reciting poetry to music. The music, as on the eponymous debut, is fantastic and meshes well with Healy's vocals. It's more than a bit tempting to compare The 1975 to Oasis (great songwriting, a unique-ish singer, two standout albums to start with). Let's hope that's where the comparison ends. Its seller being the actual band itself, this is definitely a product of high quality. The way The 1975 portrays their music goes beyond the range of alternative rock. This product is very easy to use. Now if you are just starting out your collection of vinyl records, it good to research ways on how to take care of them. There are certain things to consider buying in order to clean the records or storage boxes to store them properly. With that in mind, proper caring for the records will definitely help in prolonging the life expectancy and quality of this product. There is a certain dynamic range in the artists voices that can be heard through records but not digitally. The idea of losing yourself through music and not being able to pause the song gets to me. You listen to the record because you want to, not because you forced yourself. Being able to physically hold the things that you like gives more meaning to it. Collecting records are really fun, though it may cost more than regular CD’s today. Just the whole maintenance behind it is a huge disadvantage. Generally, vinyl records are definitely worth the money if you are a type of person who enjoys them. Don’t force yourself into liking this media of music to fit in, because if you do, you’re certainly just wasting money on something that doesn’t make you happy. ... show more

The product arrived on time and in good condition. The clear vinyl showed maybe a couple imperfections, but I haven't noticed any effect on the sound. The record works like it should, sounds like it should and looks mostly like it should. 4/5 solely because of the aesthetic imperfections

Two stars for the packing job - CD case was delivered all cracked up. Anyway, product preview... Comparing this to The 1975's first album is like comparing apples to oranges. The first album has more of a puritan sound with clean vocals and instrumentals with some synth thrown in occasionally. This second album is very "digital." Vocal effects and electronic, ethereal sounds galore. There are a couple acoustic songs on this which are very nice. Regarding favoritism, I am inclined to lean towards the cleaner, more jazzy first album. The second one has its own mesmerizing jive though. After listening to this on Spotify several times, I decided it was worth buying - it's a great road-trip album. ... show more

Was really excited to receive this but it's such a bummer to receive scratched vinyls. I realize it's next to impossible to prevent this and it's not so bad that I would request a return, but definitely a bummer. 2-3 small skips
