The bracers themselves are very nice, pretty sure fake leather. Fairly sturdy, a little on the stiff side but okay. They are smaller than I expected though and the straps are started to fray and split as soon as I started lacing them up. I can get them on, but barely. I will be replacing the cording. I'm not confident the material is 100% real leather but I don't really care that much, it gets the job done for my costume and that's all that really matters. I would definitely not trust this as actual armor (if, for some reason, you intend to use it that way) because it seems a little bit flimsy and probably wouldn't do much to protect you. Product came unlaced with two strings, but you probably should lace it yourself even if it came laced so that it fits you. Easy to lace, do it just like you would lace a shoe, might need to do some fancy wrapping/tying to hide the extra string hanging off (if you have any). If you're using this for a costume or cosplay it is a good product and I think the value is acceptable. I've only seen a few bracers like these that are cheaper. These are good quality nonetheless and will totally get the job done unless you expected some serious battle armor. ... show more

Honestly I had no idea what to expect when I ordered this. I like to think I'm a bigger girl, and in the past ordering things like this tend to not fit. I was impressed with how fast this came in the mail, and how high quality the laces and the bracers themselves were. They fit nicely with some room to spare, and are quite durable. Note that it's ONE piece per order/price listed. I didn't notice that and when I received just one, and went to order another, they were out of stock. Worked great for my costume. Nice size for a woman's arm - not too long. Skinny though so I would not recommend for anyone with beefy forearms. I gave it 3 stars bc mine was really stiff and the rounded piece on the cuff was uncomfortable. I wish it was straight across instead of rounded. I suggest when it arrives that you unlace and open it up, then 'work' the leather so it softens, especially around that rounded cuff. You can use a leather conditioner on the outside leather but ONLY if you have a week or two before you plan to wear it. Otherwise it could discolor any clothing it comes in contact with. I also suggest using some type of glove or sleeve under it as the laces are a bit stiff. I replaced them with a satin ribbon lace, which felt and looked better. Was a little nervous about getting these but they are fantastic. They fit very snuggly and look absolutely amazing and the laces they give you to tie them up are just the right length (at least for my arms), though it took me a few tries to lace them properly and I recommend burning the edges to seal them so they don't fray. While these bracers have no flair they are very sturdy and durable. My husband has worn them a few times now and they are holding up to all day wear very well. The strings leave something to be desired but for the price they are alright.
