I was recently diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff, after years of pain. I bought the Hyperice X2 to help reduce pain and inflammation, and I have been very happy with my purchase. It's comfortable to wear, and fits well. It is easy to use and seems to be made well. I was surprised at how cold it gets. I often do the contrast therapy, where it alternates between hot and cold, and it feels so good on my shoulder. It also offers a slight pressure, which also feels good. My only "complaint" would be how long the battery lasts. I find that I have to recharge it after each use. It lasts about 90 min, which is what is advertised (so no starts deducted). I just wish it lasted longer. Maybe, future models will. Other than that, I am extremely happy with my purchase. I will be having surgery in the near future to repair my shoulder, and will likely use the Hyperice during my recovery as well.

$450 of garbage, they added too many features and overcomplicated it. the cooling doesn’t get cold enough, the heat not hot enough, compression is gimmick and doesn’t do anything, wtf is thissssssss, the straps aren’t comfortable as the venom 2, and ON MY SECOND DAY OF USING IT it stops working a couple times, gonna give it a chance and try later

Agree with other reviewers. I have an AC separation in my shoulder and I'm using the contrast therapy on this device to help my recovery. It does a great job alternating between hot/cold. But I would say that the compression is ineffective. I was expecting the level of compression provided by my Hyperice Normatec Elite leg compression bags, but it is basically ineffective for the shoulder in my opinion. The bags expand for compression, but the outside fabric of the shoulder mount is loose, so it expands outwards rather than actually providing compression in my contrast therapy. Disappointed by the compression, but thrilled about the hot/cold contrasting.

Absolutely worth the money in my opinion. Had surgery and this therapy brace has helped so much, especially with the contrast. I would buy the x2 knee but they don’t offer an extended warranty on that one.

I have a small frame and I have a SLAP tear in my shoulder that gives me daily pain despite plenty of PT. I was very excited to receive this and get some relief. However, it rapidly became apparent that strapping a big and surprisingly heavy machine to my shoulder was only going to make it worse. I can farmer carry 20 pounds just fine but for some reason this thing provides just the right amount of force to mess up my shoulder and strain the soft tissue. Very saddening because the shoulder is just such an awkward joint to heat or cool even if you have full range of motion, so I really wanted this to work. This does not seem to have been made with petite humans in mind. The compression even at max strength is nowhere near what was advertised. I’m going to try using it laying down and see if I can somehow make it work, but so far it’s done more harm than good. The loudness is also a bit of a nuisance, earplugs are strongly recommended

Over engineered, overly complicated. very expensive relative to the much cheaper options available for heat (or cooling). if you absolutely need something wireless (not battery powered), maybe it's worth it. but for 1/5th (or 1/10th) the cost, can get something simpler that will heat just as well. Or a separate one that will cool. It is, however, well built for what it is.

I've had a few Hyperice products in the past. However, this is far and away one of their best. I couldn't believe how cold it got, and that was wearing a t-shirt. The heat then took over and just as cold it got, it was equally hot. Then add in the massage. My shoulders are feeling fantastic. I use every time after I work upper body and in-between. Since I've been using it, my shoulders have been feeling a lot better, not getting as sore and range of motion has gotten better. Plus, it works both shoulders. Can't recommend it enough.

I bought this with my remaining FSA funds. I tried the shoulder routine and my shoulder pain is a little better. I will have to try it for a couple more weeks to see if there's any improvement. I am writing early because as I saw the placement of the cooling/heating elements, it looked like my lower back. Since I just tweaked my back yesterday, I thought I would strap it to my back. Sure enough it felt good after 40 minutes. I will update in a few weeks
