I'll start by saying I had low expectations. Like low low. I just wanted a super basic duvet that fit my king size bed. I am not a hot sleeper, and I had a regular basic comforter that was fine temperature wise. I ordered the CA King size so it would have additional overhang. Um. I does not. It actually barely overhangs the bed at all. There's like maybe 6 inches of over hang on the sides and bottom, and that's with the top not pulled over the pillows. I'm not particular, but if I pulled this up over the pillows like most folks make their beds, it would have no overhang at all on the bottom. It's genuinely a really awkward size and I don't know why they wouldn't have added at least 6 more inches if not 12 more to each side. Secondly, we keep our room about 70-72 at night, via window unit that is literally 3 feet from the bed, blowing on us, plus am overhead fan. I'm usually freezing from all the wind happening. This blanket doesn't breathe at all. I was so so hot the first night. Mind you, I haven't even added a duvet cover to it, it's just the insert. Ive never kept my room this cool at night (before my fiance, I kept my room at 75 and slept with a comforter just fine) and yet at 70-72 I am burning up under this thing, to the point I couldn't get comfortable around 2am and turned the AC down to 66. We have a gel top cooling mattress, and I have never felt so suffocated as I did under this duvet. I'm at day 3 with it, and I'm glad I haven't ordered a duvet cover yet because I think I'll be giving this to my brother and buying something else entirely, there is no way I'm going to make it through summer using this. Again, I am not a hot sleeper, I just wanted something super basic, and I wanted it to just fit on the bed, and it does neither of these things. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have a real down comforter that is just too fluffy and the lays kind of awkward because of the weather....uneven like surface. This was a cheap alternative when I only needed a comforter, not another 7 piece set. It does come vacuum sealed, so off the bag looked very underwhelming. The instructions ask to lay it on the sun, since I don't have that type of space, I simply put it in the dryer for a quick-dry and it come out perfect. Maybe I was stupid and didn't read every single review but I really should be able to buy a king-sized blanket that can actually cover all sides of my king-sized mattress. This one does not and nor is it fluffy like the pictures show it to be. I might have to pre-wash and dry it to see if it actually shows any resemblance to the pictures. I was all excited about the color and the puffiness. Fabric isn't as soft as I thought that it would be but then again, $40. That should about cover my expectations. ... show more

I have a queen size bed, but I purchased a king size comforter to fit into the duvet set that I purchased for our "floating" style bed frame. The comforter itself isn't even close to being as fluffy as the product pictures show (I've added a pic of it in the duvet cover and you can see that it's pretty flat), but overall we're satisfied with it because it is a great summertime comforter.
