A lower pH helps the roots take up the nutrients they need and phosphorous and potassium deliver color illumination. Brings all the brilliant reds, purples, and oranges that make Japanese maples the crowning glory of the garden. It contains premium organic ingredients like bat guano, cottonseed meal, feather meal and humic acid. A naturally occuring organic material that is formed when organic matter decomposes. Have used this product previously and have excellent luck with it! A great fertilizer blended for Bonsai maples of several varieties. I don't just use it on my maples either as it works well on pretty much all of my Bonsai trees. A bit expensive compared to regular fertilizer, but if you want a good product for a specific purpose, you have to pay a bit more for it. I have a small Japanese Maple that is 4 years old, but seems to only just survive year-to-year. I have the tree in full sun in hot Orange County, CA. Japanese Maples typically like only partial sun, but I have a neighbor who also has one in full sun and it seems to do really well, so I thought I'd try it. Every spring, my tree develops beautiful red leaves, but by the time the weather turns hot in June, the leaves wither and the tree looks dead or dying from July through March. I started using this supplement after discovering it in late July this year (it's now the end of September 2015) and have mixed it in my soil monthly for two months now. While my tree isn't thriving yet, this is the first summer that my tree started growing fresh red leaves in the heat, and that only happened after I started using this supplement. I have used Happy Frog products before on other applications, and from what I have seen so far, I am hopeful and confident that my tree will start thriving next spring after regular application of this Japanese Maple supplement from Happy Frog. ... show more
