I thought there might be a problem with the cap screwing in the same direction as the wide mouth part but there is less friction at the cap so it hasn't been an issue. It unscrews smoothly without detaching the whole assembly from the lid. Like all Hydro Flask products, these are well made and designed to fit their wide mouth products perfectly. My only complaint is that you have to really tighten it to make it leakproof, and that can sometimes make it difficult to remove the cap. Very happy with this cap. I was skeptical due to other reviews but am very glad I bought it. More controlled flow. Apply bottom of cap snugly and the top cap is just lightly tight so when twisting cap does not come undone. Best cap I've had yet for my flask.

I really like the cap, it is just hard to grip the bigger part of it to take it off and fill it with ice. But once done, the smaller cap is great for drinking and chugging. Very pleased overall.

I love this over the leaky sip lid. My biggest complaint is every time you close the drinking lid, it tightens the base part! It’s almost impossible to get off at times. The strap should be on the big part to get some leverage.

This review is for the chug cap. I LOVE my Hydro Flask, but the wide mouth is too big to comfortably drink from without regularly spilling water on myself! I have the similar chug cap for my Yeti, and very strongly prefer that one. The handle is better, and it's easier to take off just the top portion to drink from. I don't love the hydro flask strap, and sometimes the whole cap starts to come off when I open it to take a drink. The one plus is that it's easy to overtighten the Yeti which can make it really difficult to open, whereas this one doesn't have this problem. All told, if you don't have a bottle yet, get the Yeti Rambler with the chug cap. It's better in general, and also doesn't cost extra. That said, this was a game changer for my Hydro Flask that I already have and I'm happy to have it. ... show more

I've tried a lot of different replacement lids for my Hydro Flask bottle to find one that allowed me to drink at my desk without splashing or getting a face full of ice. Straws were a no-go because they're too hard to clean. This lid is perfect, you get the wide mouth for filling and ice, and the narrow mouth for drinking more easily. The lid is insulated (a weak point on most cheaper knock-offs) and leak proof. My only complaint is that the carrying loop is attached to the narrower top piece rather than the wider bottom piece (like the original lid), it just seems more prone to breakage this way and the loop itself is smaller. Overall that's a minor complaint, the functionality is great. ... show more
