These boots are great! I needed a taller boot to keep my legs dry and I appreciate that the top of the boot is more narrow as I have thinner calves. The calf width is also adjustable. They are a great color and very fashionable, can be dressed up or down. My primary use will be on the muddy soccer fields. I love because is a high calf, to wear while you are washing a horse. However if you are planning to walk all afternoon, better to choose other shoes. They are great to work at the stalls, to ride, but not comfy to walk. The gray color is beautiful. Update: they will last 1 year. Afterwards they allow water to come in. Yes, not anymore waterproof. I bought for all my family a went to garbage one year later. All of them.

I couldn't of purchased a better rain boot. I could go on and on and on telling you what a absoutle joy having these rain boots are. They work great. Very comfortable. The only thing I wish was different would be the weight of the shoe. It is a heavty type boot, but that to me. Symbolizes durability. Whats better than a dependable durable rain boot??

I am 5' 0" tall and do not have thick calves. I am of average weight. These came up to right below the knee which is fine but they were too tight around. I could barely take them off. Hunter should start making boots that are not just for teenagers, tall women and those who have freakishly skinny barbie type legs. I also looked into the wide calf option and didn't appreciate that they have a completely different color scheme with the buckle being a different color than everything else particularly screaming of the fact that hey these are wide calf because I couldn't fit into your super small "average" size. I also did not want the short mid-calf boots. Looks like Hunter is not for me. Too bad because I would have spent the $150 for something that fit and wasn't made for only certain types of people.

First of all make sure that tall boots are really what you want or if you potentially have a large calf that it will work for you. Next I love these boots I live in a wet and rainy location that's not too cold. But with using some boot liners I foresee myself using these in a winter wonderland! (Otherwise have a great pair or two of wool socks). Also my shoe size can range from 9.5 to 10 and I got the size 9 which fits perfectly. I haven't measured the diameter of my calf (which is not large by any means, and I am not being modest about this, so I can give you the best review) but with a pair of jeans on, these fit snug around the calf.
