I have wide feet. Size 8.5 W. The women's size 9 in the tall Hunter boots with the gusset in the back fit absolutely perfect. Not a lot of arch support, but there is enough room in the boot to put a supportive insole into them. They are very comfy with the insoles and I'm very picky about comfort. LOVE the gusset in the back, making the calf space wide enough for my extra wide calves, even with pants tucked in. Very hard for me to find rubber boots that would fit over my calves. Previously had to use the Muckboot brand with it's stretchy neoprene tops. But those are very stiff, heavy and clunky and hard to move quickly in. These tall Hunter boots with the back gusset are much lighter weight, more flexible, easier to move in, and just perfect for their intended purpose. I'm a dog trainer and I work outdoors often. They are not cold weather boots. If the temp drops below 35 F, they're not warm enough. I wear heavily insulated pac boots in the super cold weather. I am sensitive to the cold. I bought these intending to use them for pond-shore work, rain, mud, brush, tick protection in the lower vegetation. I went to a store and tried on another style of Hunter brand before ordering from Amazon. The local store did not have this style, or I certainly would have preferred to support my small, local business. But Amazon is always a positive experience too. THANK YOU !! PERFECT !! May 2017 Update - Have worn these boots almost daily for over a year now. Sometimes for several hours at a time. (a bit hot and sweaty in the warmer weather, but not nearly as bad as Muckboots.). I slog around in a foot of water & muck pulling cattails out of the pond, I crash through wet weeds and muddy fields training dogs, the occasional stall mucking job for a friend......the boots hose off easily and show no signs of wear. EXCELLENT! I am considering purchasing a "back-up" pair in case Hunter decides to stop making them after they outlive their current "fashion statement status". I live in the Pacific Northwest and had been looking for a quality rubber boot for rain/mud/snow and chose this one based on the reviews. The reviews were spot on, great boot, sizing is correct, I wear a size 8 and ordered a size 8 and the fit was perfect! The back pleat allows for quite a large opening to slip the boot on. I have 15-3/4" calves and still have plenty of room, including my jeans tucked in and wearing Hunter boot socks. The quality is amazing and the boots are comfortable. Love the look and quality of these tall boots! I wear a US size 6 in most shoes and ordered a size 6 in the boots because I wanted to be able to comfortably wear a heavier sock. Mission accomplished! I had no problem getting the boots on while also wearing a skinny jean; however, it was a tugging match trying to get them off due to my high arched feet. This is an issue I’ve had with other boots over the years as well. I purposely ordered the back adjustable boots due to my high arches, and the back gusset undoubtedly helped me to get the boots on and off. These are definitely NOT knock offs! The red dot on the bottom is a seal of authenticity. They are very high quality. I love these boots so much! I’m 5’5” and the boots hit my lower knees. They are a bit tall on me, but still comfortable and cute! I wear a size 7 1/2 in most shoes. I sized up to an 8 so I could wear thick socks with these. They fit as expected. I love that the box a packaging was new. The boot itself is good for what it’s for rain. I usually wear an 11 but I got a 10 and they fit well. I’m not sure if these have the adjustments on the side or in the back I can’t see from the picture. I had the one on the side 1st returned them and got the adjustment in the rear of the calf to make room for my thick socks lol ... show more

I bought these because we have a stream on our property and I need to get in it to keep it cleaned out. These boots are good for that. There is little arch support so I wear thick wool socks. There is enough room in the boot for me to do that but if you have a large foot (width or height wise) you may not be able to wear a real thick sock with them. One thing I did notice....they come up to the bend of my knee. Not below or above, just about the middle of it. If you buy these and they come up that far, it makes it hard to drive in them as you leg can't bend as well if the boot is right at the bend of the knee. Just be aware of that. ... show more

When I first got the boots I thought, whoops, these are going to be uncomfortable and clunky. I finally wore them and was pleasantly surprised! They fit beautifully and keep my feet nice and dry - even in downpours on the soccer field. Easy to wash off the mud too. I'm 5'7", so they don't hit the back of my knee and fall in the perfect spot...maybe not so though if you are shorter. You have to wear warm socks with them though if it's cold outside; any kind of boot socks will do the trick. I also like the fact that they are adjustable in the back, so I can make them snug or loose on my calves depending on what pants and/or socks I'm wearing.
