  • It is great for getting lots of rockwool in your diet!
I needed a knife to cut rockwool insulation and many people recommended a bread knife. Working with rockwool feels very similar to angel food cake........seriously! It is soft and spongy with a bit of a crust on one side. It tears and smashes easily and cuts much easier than bread. The 10" length of the knife is great for cutting the large sheets that are 3+ inches thick. The handle and blade are finished nicely with a satin finish on the blade. It looks like a wood handle and is very comfortable to hold onto. I held it for a couple days of insulation work, so itos certainly nice enough to hold for a loaf or two of bread. The logo is simple and attractive. I bought this one because I didn't want to ruin the one in the kitchen or my camping trailer. This one is 20 times nicer than those and still feels sharp. The thick and sturdy blade worked great to wedge between peices to position them and it would probably be great as a spatula too if you were to cut and serve something like cake. I don't know whether to keep it with my nice tools or to wash it and put it in the kitchen! ... show more

  • Doesn't Cut It
Looks and feels great. It just doesn't cut bread. It mashes English toasting loaf and won't penetrate crusty sourdough. If you do manage to get the cut started, it won't finish. The cutting edge is too straight: you have to hold it perfectly flat to the cutting board and cut through the entire bottom crust at once, particularly hard to do because, as previously mentioned, it's not sharp enough for crusty bread. ... show more

  • Great value, and a nice quality knife.
This is an inexpensive, yet very effective bread knife. Will it last forever? I don't know, but I don't see why it wouldn't last a long time with reasonable care. Like my mother's sewing scissors, I am religious about using this for only one thing. In this case, it's slicing bread. I believe that this practice will keep it cutting smoothly indefinitely. I don't have time in my life for junk, but I also appreciate a bargain. This knife fits the bill. One thing to note is that it's probably longer than you think it is. Now that I have the 12" model, there's no way I actually need a knife that long. It's not a negative - maybe it will be a bonus for you - but it's just an observation. ... show more

  • Decent knife, cheap metal
Decently sharp knife Very cheap metal The edges of the back of my blade are sharp like it’s fresh cut metal and I’ve cut myself multiple times just applying downward pressure while cutting. For a long knife like this it’s kind of hard to cut while just holding the handle but using the back of the blade is liable to cut me. ... show more

  • Felt good & sturdy but didn’t cut the bread good
The knife felt really sturdy and made well. I don’t know what it is but it didn’t cut my bread good. It felt like it needed sharpening. Like the blade was too thick for the serrated edge. I couldn’t figure it out. I went back to my old knife that I wanted to upgrade but works great very sharp.

  • Great Bread Knife
I purchased this knife because I bake a lot of my own breads. It’s dedicated to just cutting breads so more expensive ones are unnecessary. The tang is securely run through the handle. I purchased a sheath to protect the sharp blade. Every sharp knife I own has a sheathed blade. This knife is exactly what I was looking for and I’m very satisfied with it. ... show more

  • Very substantial knife. It feels MUCH more expensive then it was.
Not knowing how much it was I would price it at over 100 Dollars. It is very substantial to both handle and the cutting blade part. Very good quality. It turned to heavy for me as I am not a strong person and I am always looking for well weight light knives and that is not it. It sure IS well weighted but it is still to heavy for me. However again, it is very good professional knife and cuts great. ... show more

  • Perfect slices
For the money spent on this knife, I am shocked at the quality. I wasn't expecting a whole lot when I ordered it, just something to cut my home-made bread. But color me impressed. This bad boy does its job and more. I have never seen more beautiful slices of bread cut by my own hand. Less annoying crumbs, perfectly sliced tomatoes, easy to clean and attaches onto my knife magnet perfectly. Happy as can be! ... show more
