When I was buying this I made sure the seller was Amazon.com hoping it would be legit because I've seen and read about a lot of scams with fragrances, but apparently Amazon must be getting scammed also. So unboxing it looked perfect, the cellophane was folded perfectly no indications of being tampered with until I checked the bottom and as you can see in my pics that the original label was cut off by hand and replaced with a different one. Update I rummaged through my trash and found the cellophane and looked closer at the bottom and notice it looked like it had been glued back together it is really hard to see in the Pic ... show more

Not that there's much to say about colognes - you either like them or you don't - and Hugo is one of my all-time favorites. I've worn this fragrance for many, many years, and it's definitely a go-to when I can't decide among my other 11 different colognes. It's still a bit on the pricey side, but I don't wear cheap stuff, so I expect this. I get compliments on this fragrance every single time I wear it. I LOVED this cologne when I tried it on in a store. Unfortunately, this does NOT smell the same. It's either very old, a bad batch, or a fake. The scent is weak, and the alcohol or some other chemical smells stronger than the rest of the cologne. Big disappointment. Also it cannot be returned, so I'm out the $. Some others have posted similar reviews, so I would recommend not taking the risk. ... show more

I've whore Hugo off and on for over 10 years and I love the scent. My major gripe here is that the spray is ridiculously strong--it sprays so hard you can feel it hitting your skin. I have to hold it at arms length to get more of a mist and not a concentrated wet spot. I been wearing this cologne for years. I know the difference between a bad batch and a good batch, like night,and day. Twice in a row I have ordered Hugo Cologne hoping to get that fresh light wonderful smell. What I got, smelled like musk with 70% alcohol . Let me down again, left me not trusting Amazon for letting these certain company sell products that get "Complaints all the time!"! Stop buy from these distributors. ... show more
