This was a good buy! The curtains are thick , the black out is not great, it does black out light but I would prefer if it was darker. They look high end and they are very long . The fabric is soft and feels expensive.

If you’re a neurotic first time mom like me, and you’re putting together your nursery, I’ve got just the review for you. I ordered a panel in both birch and oyster so you wouldn’t have to agonize over these two colors. Your husband, like mine, likely doesn’t see a difference between them anyways. See labeled photo in natural light. I ended up going with oyster because the room has a warmer off-white paint color, warm tones in the rug, and warm colored lighting. The oyster was more of a cool-colored white so factors like this in your room may sway you. Key take aways about the curtains themselves: 1. Thick and light blocking but not totally black out. The darkness they produced with typical landlord special drawstring blinds was more than sufficient for a sleeping baby. 2. They snag insanely easy. Do not wear rings or have sharp edges on your nails when handling. And definitely don’t let your cat sit on them haha. Oops. 3. I steamed these with a fabric steamer once hung and it worked great. Took maybe 20 min per panel. 4. Someone wrote a lovely review about sewing an extra strip on the back to feed those hidden hooks with teeth through the back to give it that floating look. While that’s awesome, that sent me down a long rabbit hole. The other reviewer is correct, the existing panel strip these curtains come with on the back won’t work with those hooks with teeth. I tried. The curtains flop down and you can see the teeth coming up. I am not that crafty and my seamstress quoted me $50/panel to add this extra strip like the other reviewer since you’d need to remove all the tabs. I ended up just getting the clip on type curtain rings by ivilon in warm gold and I think it looks lovely and wasn’t such a pain. Overall I’m super happy with my purchase. UPDATE: baby is 6 months old now and I ended up ordering these in nightfall navy. My baby “came online” around 4 months old and was so curious about everything and wouldn’t sleep! This dark color paired with blinds made the room nearly blacked out. The oyster color is lovely but won’t block out nearly as much light. ... show more

I bought these curtains to replace an older set of black out curtains. I liked the description that said the curtains had a linen look and feel. They do. They are heavy, well made and look expensive. I think these are very pretty and good quality. I'm just disappointed because of the price. I think they're a bit overpriced for the quality - I thought there were two panels and for $48 for two panels these would be 5 stars hands down. For $96/pair they're okay. I had planned to get the navy Sanela curtains from Ikea, which I have in other rooms of my house, and thought I'd save some money by getting these instead... in the end I actually spent more. I'm going to keep the one and just ordered another for two reasons - (1) I do really like the indigo color. There is nice variation in the color - it's woven and there is a richness and depth about the color and way it's made, which is a nice contrast to the single solid color of velvet curtains. (2) I like the hidden tabs. Most of the curtains in my house are either on rings or tracks, and no matter how high quality they are, they do need regular checking to make sure everything is still attached. Having the hidden back tabs makes for a nice clean look on the front and means I'll never have to get on a step stool to check that everything is still attached. Overall I just think they should be a little lower priced - even $70/pair and I'd feel like it was a great price. I just don't think they deserve 5 stars at $100/pair. I will keep an eye out and if these ever go on sale I'd probably order a few more :) ... show more

After buying quite a few other panels for my living room, I landed on these and they are near perfect. They are a nice soft, but thick fabric that are are definitely light block - the back of the curtain is a solid color that coordinates with the front, and doesn't have the plastic feel/look of other light blocking curtains. I have them hung using hooks which were super easy to slip through the provided ticking on the reverse of the curtain. You also have the option for using the back loops or pocket on top. They are a great quality. Do yourself a favor and give them a light iron prior to hanging them. They smoothed out much nicer with a light iron than with a steamer once they are hung.
