  • Almost the Perfect Monitor for Work
I use this as a work monitor, not for gaming. This monitor hits every check box for me except software to support PnP or the ability to separate the screen with windows from multiple inputs at the same time. A little more pricey than its comps, but a much more solid build... there’s nothing flimsy about this monitor. ... show more

  • Hell of a Monitor!
I love the way this monitor works. Everything is automated. Run two computers on it and it knows which computer to run. Beautiful monolithic design and the colors really pop. Built like a tank. Makes the Dell 38" look like an 80's plastic monitor. LOL

  • Nightmare to deal with HP
Great display for every day work . The monitor worked as expected till it broke and here is where my nightmare began. I bought this monitor from Aventis through Amazon. Given this monitor is 5 months old, I had to contact HP. Getting to a representative who actually addresses the issue is a real challenge. The guys from z series never picked up the call. Had to call the original HP support, ask them to connect and wait on the line. A couple of hours just gone in this to get the ticket created. I provided the proof of purchase and the ticket went to Aventis. Had to call Aventis to clear the ticket. Finally HP approved for a refurbished monitor. Not sure how this works. In 5 months time, the money I spent for the original monitor is getting replaced with a refurbished one after jumping through so many hoops. At this point, I wonder if it is worth buying products this expensive from a disjointed setup like this. ... show more

  • Mediocre. Would not recommend.
Really not that impressed. Impressive size. Looks nice. Picture quality is not great - can see the individual pixels and brightness is just mediocre. Would not recommend it.

  • Awesome Monitor
This is an amazing monitor and equivalent to using dual-24" monitors. The image quality is remarkable.

  • picture was very good but it died after 15 months
I really liked the monitor but after only 15 months it just died from one moment to the next. FWIW I have everything on a quality UPS so it wasn't a power surge.

  • Highly recommend this computer screen
I have used one of these computer screens for about a year at work. I love it. I liked it so much that I ended up getting the same model for computer use at home AFTER getting the huge 49" Samsung screen. If you're comparing this monitor with the 49" Samsung for mainly office work and web surfing, then I recommend getting this screen. The height of the screen of the Samsung is not tall enough for its width. Plus the huge width to height of the Samsung screen makes all of the text big and blurry if your graphics card doesn't have a super high pixel resolution. For the HP Z38c, I would recommend utilizing a DP port or HDMI port from your computer. And make sure your computer can handle 4K pixel resolution. Also, if you use an HDMI splitter, that can affect the resolution for the computer monitor. A splitter didn't affect it for sending the signal to my TV, but it did for the monitor. Set this monitor up right and the picture is crystal clear. It is also very easy to rotate and angle. Another thing I learned with this monitor, is that when I hooked my HDMI cable from the computer up to it, I had my speakers hooked into the computer's sound port. When I plugged the monitor in, the sound from the sound port went bye-bye. The thing to know is that the HDMI connection carries the computer sound. So just move your sound wire to the out sound connector port on the monitor and it worked just fine for me. Update: May 2020 I liked this monitor so much that not long afterwards I even got a second one because I do a lot of 3D modeling, work on large spreadsheets and also do some programming. Got the second one a few months before the pandemic and they’ve worked out amazing. Having two of them is basically like having 4 computer screens. Even with having two and extending the screen, by temporarily dragging a window moving the pointer to edge of the screen then going down with the pointer slightly, it will set a window to the left or right half of the screen. Big thing is to make sure you have a strong enough graphics card. If you have two monitors, the graphics card the computer has should have a resolution large enough to handle a resolution twice that of just the one monitor. The HP desktop computer I had been using before didn’t have a graphics card with a high enough resolution. It would handle one of these monitors, but not two. I believe that is also why the 49” Samsung had blurry text. The HP didn’t have the graphics card to handle it. One other thing I found out was if you buy a computer and ever want to upgrade it, double check that the components (especially the power supply) isn’t proprietary or that at least the power supply is like 650W. What I found out when I tried to upgrade my computer was that many name brand computers if you aren’t careful have proprietary parts. On mine, the power supply that came in the computer was the only one that could go in it, not even a more powerful one from the same company. The power supply in that desktop was only like 100W and for the graphics card I needed it recommended at least 400W. After finding out I couldn’t upgrade that desktop, I built my first computer. And the new home built computer runs AMAZING!!!! Right now my new home built computer runs the two monitors and my TV. The TV can be run from the motherboard connector and the monitors from the video card, although there are extra slots where I could hook up an HDMI for the TV, but I found out it’s good to know the resolution for each port. To run video on both the motherboard and graphics card, there’s a setting that has to typically be changed in the BIOS. It’s actually not all that hard, just sounds like it is if you’ve never built a computer. For those that haven’t built a computer, if you are somewhat technically inclined, then I recommend attempting it. It’s worth it. ... show more
