  • Incredible color and quality for the price and almost no IPS glow : )
I have a 27" dual monitor setup and wanted a larger screen for gaming. My old monitors are BenQ 1440p 144hz displays and they are super high quality displays and were around the $600 mark when new. For the money this is a very high quality display. It's not as good as my BenQ's as the viewing angles are not quite as good especially if your looking from above (see pics) but if your at a normal viewing height it is almost perfect. Quality of the screen is top notch, there is almost no IPS glow and colors really pop. I ran a dead pixel test and it this monitor is perfect. Even knowing this is still a 1440p display, I do not notice any pixel issues from the stretch. Everything looks very clear. Gaming performance is awesome. Just remember to set windows hz levels to the monitors hz max, as windows defaults to 60hz when first plugging in. I wasn't sure how much difference the size upgrade would be, but for me, 32" is the perfect size. I was originally going to get a 34" wide screen. I'm glad I didn't. Packaging was top notch and nothing was damaged. The stand is super solid even though I didn't need it. One thing to keep in mind if using the stand is that it does not swivel side to side. This monitor was well worth the $299 I paid for it. I use a mount on my monitor for my speakers and the vesa mount on this monitor is slightly indented. So for those who plan on using that type of mount, your going to need some spacers (see pics). I'll be honest, I'm kind of a IPS monitor snob, and a lot of IPS monitors are really garbage and have many flaws including really bad blacks and IPS glow issues. This is a close to perfect as I could ask for. I did adjust the color settings just a bit as I like a richer color. I chose the "gaming" mode and also pulled the contrast to 80% since it was at 100% out of the box. Time will tell if it lasts but I did a bunch of research before I purchased this monitor and it seems that HP did a good job with this one. ... show more

  • Gorgeous. Get the drivers + make sure to use DisplayPort for highest refresh rates
I've been using 2 HP 32 inch QHD monitors for the past ~8 years. The HP W9S97AA#ABA Omen, and a very similar (exact same looking) Pavilion version. The (old) Omen has 75 Hz refresh, the Pavilion has 60 Hz. They both still work, and I've used them on a daily basis, often 14+ hours per day. They've been great for work (programming mostly) and for play. They're both VA panels, which I think were pretty new at the time (~2017). Because I had such a great experience with HP monitors, I decided to look to HP first when I went to update my setup. I recently wanted to pick up a newer monitor (mostly to see if they're any better) and I really wanted to try an IPS. Thankfully, HP is making this Omen 32Q, with insane refresh rates and response times (by contrast, my old Omen tops out at 75 Hz refresh, and has a 5 ms response time). The difference between this monitor and my old Omen is almost night and day. Colors pop, and darks / blacks are so much deeper. It's insanely noticeable, especially with the new monitor running alongside one of my older ones. Granted, the VA technology I've had was a little older, but everything comparatively just looked a little more washed out. With the 32Q IPS screen, everything just pops. Cons: It's unfortunate that the HP Omen Gaming App (apparently has some software for changing the monitor settings) is ONLY available through the Microsoft Store. I can never get things to download correctly from the MS Store, they just sit there and spin for 6 hours until I force quit the app. The monitor has made it through some marathon playtesting with media, BUT while watching videos on Amazon Prime, the entire display will black out every 5 - 15 minutes, for about 10 seconds each time. Almost like it's going into some sort of power saving mode. My other displays have not been doing this. Not yet sure what the problem is, but I have installed the drivers from HP's website. Still trying to figure out how to get the MS Store to function, then I'll see if the HP Omen app thing makes any difference. *** This COULD be because I'm trying to run at 144 Hz over HDMI. (I think the official spec tops out at 120 Hz, so I'll either try that and / or switch to DisplayPort). Overall: If you're on the fence, get this monitor. If it lasts anywhere near as long as its predecessors, then it's about the best investment you can make for whatever your setup is. (By comparison, the only other mainstream 32 inch QHD IPS monitor I'd trust right now is probably the Samsung Odyssey G50D. Newer VA panels might be better nowadays as well, not sure). ... show more

  • Got a bad one.
Nice picture right out the box without adjusting anything. Gets really bright in HDR. Unfortunately, Dead Pixel on bottom right of screen. Also, the stand wouldn't screw in to the base all the way. The screw threads seemed messed up as I couldn't even turn it with a screw driver. I've always had good luck with HP monitors so this was just a bad unit. The box was pretty beat up too when I got it. Maybe it was tossed around in shipping. Back it goes. What a PITA. ... show more
