  • Nice Printer - One Issue - Poor Support - Very Frusterated - Sending Back

We have two issues, the first is with the unit and the other is with HP support. First, when scanning a document and sending that document to someone via the email function, the email is sent with a 1969 date. The Time stamp on the attachment is also set to that date. There seems to be no way to change this even after hours of online time with support. The support team wishes to blame the email server though not other device that does this same action using the same credentials on the same server have this issue. They also seem to think that the printer gets the date to name the attachment from the email server. I don't think so but it is possible. Other than that, I like the unit and it's capabilities, weight, speed and battery. It's great but I cannot send incorrectly dated emails and attachments. The device should allow the user to set the date or get the date from a network time server like almost every other device out there. Now for support, I'll post the 2nd days transcript so you can see my and their faults to judge for yourself. 8:10 AM Connecting... 8:10 AM Connected. We purchased this printer to use in our RV. It works perfectly. It has a scan to email feature which is absent from many other printers in the same class. Although the price is a bit higher than other InkJet printers, its compact size, battery operated make it a good value. The build quality is great. This is a great portable printer and very easy to use. We use it quite often for photos and scanning documents to make copies. The photos up to 5x7 are borderless printing and of very nice quality with good speeds printing. Scanning and copying are even faster. Price isn't cheep but this little bugger is built like a tank. The color ink cartridge that came with it would not print the Cyan color so the first photos looked terrible until we did some easy testing through the colored display. The company replaced the cartridge in one day with overnight shipping. Highly recommend this printer. Cheers! ... show more

.After the warranty is over there is NO option for service or repairs. The printer must be tossed! Mine developed an alignment problem printing that HP said couldn’t be repaired and I had to buy a new one ….3 years!!!!1
