  • Fits perfectly
Size: 52mm
Screw on easily, no glares or ghosts on the pictures, highly recommend, I used this on my panasonic lumex fz300

  • It really does stand out from the pack.
Size: 49mm
This is an excellent filter. The superb multi-coating is obvious under oblique light. It's well-made and I would assume as sturdy as advertised. Looks very good compared to lower quality filters and it's easy to clean indeed. It's not the top top of the line, but for most purposes it's more than enough. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Resists scratches, does not affect IQ
Size: 55mm
(note: similar review as on the 62mm version) Have now purchased my 3rd Hoya HD UV product, not because the others failed, but because it's my go-to filter right now for all my lenses- 2 of 62mm, a 55mm (4th Hoya HD (62mm) if counting the circular polarizer). They may be pricey, but one should not be without a good-quality filter that they are putting on their lenses (otherwise, please don't use one as the IQ will be affected). There may be no benefit for the UV reduction to the digital sensor, but the multicoating that Hoya uses here is amazing. I mostly want it on the lens for protection and ease of cleaning (I dread wiping the lens element). I haven't been the most careful in cleaning the Hoya HD filters, sometimes with the shirt or fleece I'm wearing (because I'm confident of the filter's durability), but all of them remain 100% scratchless. Image contrast is great, no flaring or ghosting problems thanks to the coating, thin ring does not cause additional vignetting (even on Sony 1680Z (62mm filter) which is known to require the thinnest filters at its widest setting), and the glass seems both unscratchable and unbreakable. Also, multicoated lenses are often very hard to clean, but this one is super easy; I think even easier than the noncoated Tiffen UV I quickly returned before investing in the Hoya. I keep these attached to my lenses attached all the time even for indoor and night photography (this puzzles friends who remove their uncoated UV filters); this filter simply does not negatively affect IQ. ... show more

  • It's glass. hardened and oh so layered!
Size: 49mm
I dislike using lens caps but needed front element protection so I bought this Hoya HD UV filter for a Canon EF-M 15-45 3.5-6.3 IS STM. The aluminum frame appears well made, screwed in smoothly and doesn't vignette or get in the way of the hood. It's also very slim, barely adding bulk to the barrel. AF works fine and clarity is excellent—basically no change from not using a filter. It is easier to clean a bit more dust resistant than older Hoya filters I've owned so they've managed to improve the coating. I'd buy again if needed. ... show more

  • Well-worth paying extra for!
Size: 49mm
This is a terrific filter and well-worth paying extra for. I use it on my Fujifilm X100F and I do not use a lens hood or a lens cap on the camera. Going with the "transparent lens cap" I put filters through a lot of abuse. I wear my camera around my neck when mountain biking in all kinds of conditions. It gets splatted on, splashed on, dusted on and it cleans up quickly and easily. (When the rain really starts coming down I tuck the camera inside my rain shell.) This filter is very hard to damage. These new multi-coatings are so much better in every way than multi-coatings of just a decade or so ago! I highly recommend this filter. ... show more

  • Great filter.
Size: 52mm
For me the most important is to cut the ultraviolet radiation, to be easy to clean and to protect lens. This is a second time I bought this filter. The first one was damaged when protecting the lens. The blow to the filter was significant and the filter sustained some damage. The lens was not harmed. ... show more

  • 1 tough lens
Size: 52mm
Amazing! First day of receiving this lens. I take my camera out on a hike and what is the first thing I do ? I take it off the Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens that I have, wipe it down with a microfiber cloth and ... wooops! I drop the hoya lens on hiking trail next to a river. I watched as the lens bounced and flipped onto hard river rocks only to land next to the edge of the river. I retrieved the lens thinking "Wow, this thing is gonna be destroyed!" but NO...it was not destroyed, not chipped, not broken (a bit scuffed on the outside ring edge) but the lens? Perfect. I couldn't believe it. I still don't believe it and it's actually on my camera as I write this review. Great lens! I'm very happy! Additionally, I haven't ever noticed any bad lighting, effects, ghosting, discoloration or anything out of the norm. This product is solid! Protect your precious treasures by using this lens! ... show more
