Description

UV-Filter HMC 95mm. SUPER HMC: These outstanding filters offer revolutionary performance in light transmission and color balance. 12 layers of Super Multicoating are applied to the surfaces of the UV(0) models, which produces an average transmission of 99.7%! Coupled with maximum surface precision, this allows increased resistance to flare and stunning images can be recorded at wide apertures without compromising the performance of your lenses. Their slim profile of just 5mm avoids any vignetting problems and makes them ideal for use with wide angle lenses. • Does as intended, to protect front of lens
I've placed UV filters on all my glass as that is cheaper to replace than the front element of a lens. This is the largest and highest price filter to date, but the brand is excellent.

  • A Big Filter for a Big Lens
Bought this to help protect a new Nikon 200-500 zoom lens. Being relatively fast (f5.6) it's got a big front end, needing this monster size filter. Like all Hoya HMC filters, it's got a full metal ring that threaded on the lens nicely. As received, the filter was new with no scratches or occlusions in the glass. Hardest thing was to make sure it was perfectly clean on the inside before mounting. Through the lens, I measured virtually no light loss with this and couldn't see any color shifting. These filter types, though, can cause a little color shift in certain conditions since they also block UV that is reflected off trees and surfaces. I've used Hoya filters on eight different lenses (short and long, zooms and primary) for over 40 years and have never had a problem with them. I expect this will be another good performer. Finally, after paying about $15 to $25 for smaller versions of this guy for my other lenses, it was quite the shock to be spending almost $90 due to the large 95mm size. Still, well worth it to help protect this lens. ... show more

  • Protection for expensive lenses.
Considering that this filter protects the front element of a Hasselblad lens, valued at $6,500, this is very good value for its very modest cost. That it also filters out unwanted ultraviolet light rays from your photographs is a happy coincidence. Seriously, always get one of these for each of your valuable lenses. ... show more

  • Great protective Filter
Hoya is a trusted name in optical filters. Why would you spend thousands of dollars on a lens and not protect it. Why would you spend thousands and then put on a heap filter, and ruin the quality? You wouldn’t, that is why I use the Hoya multi-coat UV filter. So should you!

  • Excellent filter
Hoya filters are not cheap or cheaply made. If you are serious about your photography these are the filters to get. I have used other filters and had a few problems. Hoya lenses are consistently well made and have no distortion.

  • Works like a charm
Multi-coated high quality glass, made in Japan. Does not degrade my photos like the previous Tiffen filter I had (which was not multi-coated). Beware of false advertising as some filters say multi-coated but are not.

  • Good quality filter for zoom lens.
This is a good value high quality filter. No discernible affect on pictures. Would recommend.
