This book is a surprisingly short read, but informative. The information contained within seems accurate and is generally helpful to a beginning coffee enthusiast. That said, I found it frustrating how poorly the figures translated into the Kindle version. It appears that many of them don't show up at all, as in the last section of the book it jumps from Figure 1 to 4, then 7, 8, etc. Not all the figures are needed to understand a brewing method but it seems a glaring omission. ... show more

Strikes a perfect balance between the minutiae of technical science and simple kitchen tips. The book is short and the chapters are short, written in a conversational style for a lay audience. But, there's enough detail to stretch the knowledge of most casual coffee drinkers to the next level. Great gift.
