Bought this for my grandson for Christmas. By valentine's day it was no longer working. When it was plugged in it smelled like burnt electronics and it wouldn't charge. Gave 2 stars because he had fun while it lasted

I've investigated 2 of these Hover-1 devices so far. Both had the same failure and others I see online suffered the same fate. The design makes no effort to keep the sensitive electronic clean and dry. A small amount of condensation causes a short circuit that quickly avalanches and burns components on the motherboard and the board itself. Hoverboards are fun but look for a different model for kids who might run it through damp grass or a stray puddle and ruin a favorite toy. ... show more
