  • Great Costume, many fans, but will take some time to put together & some effort to wear.
Size: One Size Color: Black/Bamboo
Great Costume, as everyone said, everyone loved it and took pictures with me, winning prize as well. I did however find below tips helpful. 1) packaged arrived and the poles for cage were inside other poles with connectors in them, so originally I thought I was short, but then saw it was condensed for shipping. 2) I am 5'4" and would not advise for anyone over another 5-6 inches taller to wear, or very slender man. 3) the slip on feet were really snug, so I cut them a little and put my slip on shoes inside the costume feet and left them in the feet to make it easier to slip on and off. After walking around all night, they did tend to tear a little farther down the foot, but that was after a few hours of waling outside and in the rain trick or treating with kids. 4) I took suggestion to wear a hat and it did help. I bought a cheap plastic party city zoo keeper hat and it did take some of the pressure off the top of your head, as the cage will rest on it, and pending where the bars lay, can slip off your head. 5) I bought string that looked like vines with little leafs on amazon as well and tied it around the cage, not only to make it look better but to hold it secure. *However, by doing this, I did not put the costume on stepping through the cage as instructed, I had the cage complete and had it rest on my counter, and then out that night, cage sat on my trunk, and I entered one leg into costume, then put my body up into cage and pulled my other leg into the costume leg. This did make me have to bend my leg back to fit in, so just make sure you can get into it still. You could tear the leg openings farther down and extend Velcro for ease. 6) the leg harness does help take some of the weight off you on the cage, so ensure to use that and I also used jeans with belt that was a "pull tight" belt, not the belt kind with holes, so I closed off the pants real tight, then looped the end of the belt under the cage and actually pulled it up and held onto that with one hand as I walked. It helped me hold some of the weight verse resting on your head. 7) Ensure to wear black pants as my Velcro on inner legs starting to open after walking in it for some time, but no one could tell with my black pants. 8) someone said the head kept falling off costume, so I safety pinned the head on and after I stuffed the body with papers, I pinned the body closed and bags of stuffing inside pinned to ensure it wouldn't move. Great costume, will take some time and may have to make your own changes, but worth it! Not comfortable for long periods of time but I found it worth the laughs! All the little kids kept asking me who was carrying me! ... show more

  • Poor
Size: One Size Color: Black/Bamboo
Costume is made really cheap, one piece of the plastic (not wooden) cage was already broken when received. Difficult to set up, can't really attach head of gorilla, closure always opens. Very uncomfortable to wear and also seems a bit too small (I'm 178cm). All in one a bit disappointed for such a high price level. ... show more

  • Cute! Very complex to assemble
We got A LOT positive comments on this costume, but it was hot - it is a good costume for colder climates! And be prepared to WORK and READ to get it put together. My sister, who is about as creative as they get, loves to assemble things (she's handy with a hammer, skill saw, and electric drills and staple guns) was pressed to her "I am not going to let this beat me" limit a time or two. If you don't like to read directions or have little patience, don't bother. If you do, you will have people pointing, laughing and asking "how does that work" all night long - and a few little kids thinking the gorilla is real as well! Oh, BTW, the bamboo sticks that make up the cage are flimsy, some were already broken, some broke in the process of building the cage. We used duct tape (of course, works for everything) to keep it all in place. ... show more

  • If you're over 5'8", you might want to rethink this costume
Size: One Size Color: Black/Bamboo
So, I'm 6'2" and this costume was tough for me to wear. The instructions were pretty clear even though it was just through photos, no words to talk you through it. It did take me about an hour to get it all together. You will need about two rolls of bubble wrap to stuff the gorilla head, gorilla arms, and human pants/legs. Definitely use bubble wrap as it's probably the lightest thing you can use to make this look realistic. As stated, I was pretty much too tall for this costume. the cage was either resting on my forehead or I was using my hands to lift it up a bit and not let it rest there. I wore the costume for around 10 hours (I was entertaining my coworkers all day), and I paid the price with a couple bruises on my forehead and a slightly strained bicep from holding it up. With all the negatives, I have to say that the costume looks fantastic to those around you. It is very realistic and deceptive; your friends and fellow revelers will enjoy it. I could have probably tolerated wearing the costume for a couple of hours at a party, but what I did was clearly too much. Many of the problems are likely eliminated if you are somewhere in the 5' to 5'8" range. ... show more
