My favorite feature is the mid-point loops (loops at the corners and halfway along the edges)!! Having real attachment points for the duvet cover makes such a difference. It sounds silly to be this excited about it, but not all duvets are made this way! Why this comforter should have been a 5 star review: Product Quality Warmth Exterior Shell Comfort Substantial Down Fill Price to Value Received Why it lost a star: Be absolutely certain that this is the correct comforter you purchase. I attempted to cancel the order. Then, when I couldn’t cancel the order, I attempted obtain a QR code to return it, unopened, and was unable to do so. I wanted to order the full / queen size in its place. Instead of Amazon’s liberal return policy, all I received was an instruction video on how to fluff up the comforter in the dryer. Fortunately the twin size fit my son’s bed, so everything worked out. Still, if the comforter didn’t fit it’s intended use, I’d have been stuck with a purchase I didn’t want.

I was against using duvet inserts and covers, yet I came across this will looking for an all white cotton comforter. I liked the price point and decided to give it a try and I did not intend to get a cover for it. Well, after using this it quickly became one of my favorite bedroom purchases. It is just lovely, super luxurious and comfortable. I decided I wanted to protect it and preserve it so I went ahead and ordered so covers for it. I could not be happier with my decision. Duvets seem absolutely superior to regular comforters. This one is easy to care for, dry clean only. I use Dryel to care for it and it always comes out great. I even used wool dryer balls and it made it nice and fluffy.

The media could not be loaded. I have been clinging onto a different comforter for 10 years. It’s a RL down that I actually found thrifting and was super excited to find because it’s a struggle to find the exact comforter I like. I like the feel of cotton, I like the goose feather or alternative “bubble” pockets, and call me crazy but I LOVE that weird crunchy sound certain cottons make. I’m pretty sure it goes make to childhood when all of my bedding was higher end and made the sound. I believe it comes from the tightness of the fabric designed to keep the feathers from poking through. The fabric needs to be a little tight and stiff to serve its purpose. You really can’t have it both ways. If the fabric isn’t tightly woven it might be softer and quieter but then you get a lot of feather pokes. I believe this duvet probably also has a starch coating although I can’t confirm that. The stiffness feels like a shirt with light starch. That is perfect for me because that is what I’m looking for. It’s a nice, crisp, cooling, bendable comforter but the feel isn’t like sandpaper. So my RL comforter started falling apart and I have been mending and trying to save because I just couldn’t find a replacement comforter like it. I go through stores scrunching comforters listening for this particular crunching sound and a couple of times I would find it but the weight wouldn’t be perfect because we are in South Florida. So I also need something that isn’t crazy heavy. I gave this one a try because of someone’s review that showed the sound (thank you). I don’t know the last time I was this excited to get an Amazon package and I get a lot of Amazon packages. I got the Twin size, All seasons, because even though we have a King size bed, my husband and I can’t agree on bedding so we use different blankets. He gets overheated very easy but I need a little weight. Now that I’ve used this blanket I wonder if this would be a comforter we could actually agree on. In my opinion, this is a great Florida comforter. Our temps dropped to 60 this week and this was perfect. I put the comforter in the dryer on AIR ONLY to fluff up the feathers after receiving. I held it up in the light and could see the filling was evenly distributed. I checked all of the seams. I would suggest doing all of this before making decisions. I’ve seen some other reviews about massive feathers falling out and that would be cause for concern about getting a legit Hotel Grand. I would also wonder if people are washing the comforters in washing machines on receiving when that happens. The wash instructions are dry clean only. This doesn’t mean you can’t take a risk and wash it on gentle and air dry yourself. But you also risk breaking down the material and more feathers could poke out. I think this goes without saying but if you are noise sensitive, this may not be the comforter for you until it breaks in some. It will get better! Just crunch it up and bend and roll hahahaha!
