Good bookcase and sturdy. Took my, admittedly handy and a hobby carpenter, husband 3 hours to put together. There was an anchor hole that was over drilled that he had to use toothpicks and some wood glue to fix but over all he said it was an easy assembly despite there being a lot of parts.

This bookshelf took my husband a good 3 hours to build by himself (I’m not much help at 8 months pregnant) but it looks amazing! He had a few moments of confusion and had to undo a step or two at one point, but overall he rated his experience a 6/10 for building this by himself 😂 Ignore the questionable knicknacks - I told him he could decorate a shelf in exchange for building it. ... show more

It was a pain to put together but I’m used to building furniture and have always been good at that sort of thing so I was able to get it put together by myself in like 4-5 hours. You will need someone’s help to move it though. It’s pretty heavy and sturdy. I think it looks great but the color is definitely not shown as advertised as a dark gray or charcoal color. It’s just plain black wood. However, I still think it looks nice and has a cool design. I would give 3.5 to 4 stars since the color isn’t what I thought it would be. ... show more

    • A PAIN TO BUILD

The ONLY reason why I'm giving this two stars is because the end product looks nice (1 star) and is what it describes (1 star). After my second day of building this ridiculous contraption, I would've returned it and asked for a full refund, except it's too heavy (maybe this is how this company gets your money!). This bookshelf took me two DAYS build because the instructions were just useless!!!! This is not my first time building office furniture, but it's the first time it's taking me two days. At first glance, the instructions provide clear steps, but I noticed beginning at step one, I was left questioning, "This doesn't seem right. What's missing? What don't I understand." This is followed by, "This can't be right?" After multiple times having to undo multiple steps, I realized the instructions lack the nuance that is actually needed to not tear your hair out, or make you start drinking. Normally, there is a YouTube or something online that can help you from somebody who has built this before, but evidently I am the only person on this earth to have built this because there is nothing out there. If you get this, you definitely need two people, especially for steps 23 on (but the instructions don't talk about the extra person until later). As nice as the end product is, I would neither buy this again, nor buy anything from this company again. ... show more
