I used to buy the Walmart brand Mainstays votives to burn in my fireplace. Last year they were so sooty! So I purchased these candles and I'm glad I did! They burn so clean! And in the votive holders they burn for 10+ hours! I can light them in the morning and some will still be burning at bedtime! Look at the votive holder on the left and see how dirty it is- that was from the Walmart votives last year! I've already burned 6 candles down in the votive holder on the right! It's still clean! I can't wait to buy more of these candles! ... show more

These candles are terrible. They are supposed to last 10 hours. The design is poor because the wax melts in the middle and snuffs out the wick. I’m lucky to get an hour out of the candle. The wick curls downwards after burning for a while and you can’t re-light it. I’ve purchased other brands of votives and not had this problem. Unfortunately I’ve passed the return window, but I’ll never purchase these again. ... show more

They do not burn for 8 hours however, at least outside, which is how I use them ( in hanging colored glass jars through out our garden/ party patio) to create an enchanting atmosphere.
