  • I thought I would hate the Horizon's math curriculum
At first sight, I thought I would hate the Horizon's math curriculum! It is very colorful and does do lots of review. I was honestly ready to chuck it, but upon seeing how much my daughter LOVED her math workbook, I decided to give it a second glance. I can see now that the colors add interest for her without being overwhelming (other math books that were too cartoon-like often distracted) and the review spiral is just enough to be helpful, but not incite boredom. I'm happy to say that I think we have found a great math curriculum for our homeschool for the younger years till we make the switch to Saxon Math for upper grades. I highly recommend this pain free way for kiddos to learn math. ... show more

  • Second year using Horizon Math K...
This is my second year using the Horizons K math and I love it. Very simple begging and increase in challenges, without being overwhelming. The first one I ordered was not through this company, but the one I did purchase through this company I noticed has a much thinner cover. All of the content is still the same so the not so shinny and thinner bookcover isn't much of an issue. Homeschooling parents looking for a great way to ease your little ones into basic math skills, please try Horizons. ... show more

  • GREAT BOOK!
My daughter LOVES this book. She is 5 years old and can't sit still. But with this book, she sits and focuses, and she can now do addition because of this book. It is very easy in the beginning, but after about Lesson 10, it's a bit more challenging for her. She would do 2 lessons per day and she has really enjoyed this book. It covers numbers recognition, the days of the week, the calendar, telling time, understanding addition, etc. I am so happy I got this for her. I would highly recommend it! ... show more

  • book 1 is enough for kindergarden......
I used Saxon math for my oldest for kindergarden, and then Horizon (book 1 only) for my second child. I found that just this book 1 was enough for the whole year, and was more advanced then the entire kindergarden math with saxon. So..... I am going to stick with horizon for my third child, but only use book 1 again, and resell book 2. My oldest did less advanced work with saxon in Kindergarden, and was able to do Horizon's first grade entire 2 book session fine (without having had a year of horizon beforehand). ** WARNING if you are looking for math curriculum for a kid under kindergarden age..... (such as preschool) I would recommend saxon's Kindergarden as it is easier and does not get as advanced at the end..... ... show more

  • I loved this curriculum for pre-K and Kindergarten
This is a very good curriculum for pre-K and kindergarten! It teaches in a way I wouldn’t think to teach my kids. It takes it nice and slow. Very repetitive which makes your kids remember the skill very well.
