  • Great fit!
These work great. My boyfriend had these in his Jeep first and I decided I liked them a lot more than the velcro/rollbar grab handles. They're very sturdy and feel more secure to grab onto getting in and out of the Jeep. ------------------------------ Notes on installation: They're relatively easy to install, I would recommend doing ONE BOLT at a time instead of taking both out and lining it up, your roll bar may have enough tension that makes it harder to line everything back up if you take both bolts out at once. Basically take one bolt, loop the handle in, tighten down most of the way, then do the other bolt, repeat, tighten everything down. As the instructions mention if you have an 03-06 TJ your door trim is a little different/has more plastic and you will have to cut part of it to make it fit. I have an 02 so did not have this issue though I did have to loosen it so the handle could fit behind it flush against the windshield. If you don't want to cut the trim you can order the older style door trim and swap it in. If you have a soft top you might find the door surrounds are just in the way enough to make it a little annoying to line up a socket and ratchet straight on. It's more work but I undid my top halfway to get the door surrounds off just to get a more direct aim so the bolt went back in straight. You could also probably use a wiggle/u-joint socket extension if you don't want to take the top part-way off. ... show more

  • Strong
Installation takes a little extra work as you have to remove some of the front a pillar trim and do some trimming. But worth the effort, looks great and are very sturdy.

  • Watch your head.
Installed these on my '99 Jeep. They are much sturdier than the cloth ones that everyone has. The only issue if my son likes to pull himself forward when he gets in the Jeep and he keeps hitting his head. That's more of a problem with how he is getting in instead of a product issue. They are super tough and work great. Installing is very easy and they look nice. Also, they are textured so grabbing them with wet hands isn't a problem. ... show more

  • Solid
These went in my 02 Wrangler no problem. They are very sturdy and made of a solid piece of steel. They don’t impede vision and provide a grip for entry and a little reassurance for when the doors are off. I definitely recommend this product.

  • Worth the price.
I installed these in my 2001 Wrangler Sport. It took about 15 minutes. I did need to carve a minimal amount of plastic off the trim along the doorjamb on both sides. I used a utility knife with a fresh blade. With the handles installed nobody but me will notice any trimming was required. Later model Wranglers have additional plastic trim that covers the area where the roll bars attach to the windshield. Those will require holes drilled through the plastic. Look at your Jeep before you buy so you know what you'll need to do. The bolt holes lined up fine and I had no issues getting them started. The factory bolts are reused and I strongly suggest using some blue thread locker when putting the bolts back in. These bolts are what hold the roll cage to the windshield and are important to the structural integrity of the Wrangler. Thread locker was used at the factory and you should use it too. You don't want them coming loose. There were some minor dings on one of the handles which exposed some bare metal under the paint. For the price I'm willing to accept this and touch it up myself. The handles do slightly interfere with the swing of the sun visors. The outer 1/4 of the visor is flexible and will fold past the handle though so it isn't an issue for me. The handles are solid. I can rock the Jeep back and forth without any flex in them. There are other brands selling similar handles for more than twice the price. I'm happy with what I got for what I paid. ... show more

  • Perfect fit for my Wranger YJ!
Holy Cow!! What an easy install!!!! And - I can get in and out of my Jeep with ease now. I love my new "Sissy Bars" (lol) They are nice and solid, look great - and I can't figure out why they weren't put in the Jeeps as stock. Granted, I have an old Jeep, but this is not a new concept. Don't mess with the "cheaper" ones - you only save a few bucks, they won't fit right - you'll drive yourself nuts. You'll either spend a lot of time trying to make it work - or returning them, like I did. Be smart - order these the first time around. YES - these fit a Jeep Wrangler YJ (1994) (just in case anyone, there is always someone, reads the description and can't figure that out.) ... show more

  • Easier to install than expected. I just remove the plastic trim.
I have a 2003 tj. I removed the trim because that makes it much easier to make this install. The a pillar is already painted and looks better than the trim. You can save the trim in case you change your mind or decide to sell. If you want to leave the trim to cover accessory wiring that you have installed you can just cut the top few inches off of the trim. ... show more

  • Nice TJ accessory
Very sturdy construction, solid bar with decent welds. Wife doesn’t mind climbing in & out of the TJ with a bad knee as much anymore.
