I didn't install this exactly according to the directions. Doing that would have caused the antenna to hit the garage door frame when I parked the Jeep. So I installed it a couple of inches lower. I did take off one star for the ease of installation. Yes, it is very easy to install once you have removed the heavy spare tire. (Which is even worse when you have to put the spare back on the Jeep). Anyway, it is on, is sturdy, and is holding the antenna just where I wanted it to be. ... show more

I installed mount as shown with the 4ft FireStik Antenna and found it was too high for my jeep to go in and out of the garage. So I changed the mount upside down ...moved it to catacorner bracket... See image... cut a notch so the screw holes lined up...see image..works great. Hope this helps...
