Honor is the third and closing book to the Sky Ridge Hotshot series. Xander and Teddy were precious! I think the way this story went was perfect. Xander had always been into her, and finally took his chance and gave his all. The way he stepped up for her and the kids every time was the sweetest thing ever. Teddy’s grief and worries were navigated really well in this book, and it felt so real. I truly enjoyed reading her journey through accepting the way Xander made her feel, and to accept that she was every thing he wanted. This was such a good closure to the series! This is book 3 in the Sky Ridge Hot Shot series and my first time reading any of Danielle Baker’s work. She did a fantastic job with this one. Seriously made me so emotional. Teddy is a mother of 2 with 1 on the way. She just recently lost her husband so she moved to Sky Ridge to be close to her brother Cal. She also ends up moving right next door to her brother’s best friend and boss, Xander. He helps keep an eye on her and even helps her deliver her baby in an emergency home birth! They slowly start (oh so slowly!) start falling for one another but also struggle with their situation. She just lost her husband and can’t imagine starting anything up with a man whose job is so dangerous and he knows he could never give his whole self to someone due to his love of his job. He also knows the risk and wouldn’t want to put anyone through the heartache if anything was ever to happen to him. Ok, let me start by saying I do not like slow burns and this one was slow but for a very good reason. The woman’s husband just died and she just gave birth! I would roll my eyes so hard if she jumped back in the dating scene so fast! As a mom, I could totally relate to how insecure she felt about herself after having her baby so I truly appreciated the delicate balance of holding off but still being attracted to someone as handsome as Xander. So even though I’m not a fan of slow burns, I gave this one a pass because I felt it was necessary. However, once the hook ups started, DAMN!! 🔥🔥🔥 So hot and I was cheering Teddy on for getting some! Good for her 🤭 Xander is a hot man and I couldn’t help but swoon hard for him with how well he took care of her and her kids! No questions asked, he just stepped up for them whenever they needed him.
