  • Fantastic Deal!
Wow, the Honda HRX217 Series tune-up kit is a fantastic deal its all original parts and the blades quality was heavy duty meterial as far as the sharpness of the blade is great too. The "big jug "of honda oil was a nice surprise. Great replacement filter and spark plug as well. Thank goodness, I kept the smaller 12FL OZ/355 ML honda original container which I can use to refill from that big jug of SAE 10W-30 honda oil because one dose not need all that big jug of oil or one will over-fill the lawn mower. I have not done the tune-up yet however, I am confident being all original parts their will be no issues. Thank you seller for great fair pricing and the fast shipping. I would buy from this seller again. :) ... show more

Great service Kit for your Honda Mower

  • Look no further, buy this!
People, waste no more time, look no further. If this kit fits your model, BUY IT, you will not be disappointed! This kit is legit, all Honda OEM parts and will get your machine back to new. Very easy to install. Just put this on my 2005 (21 year old) Honda mower which has never had a tune-up, oil change, or blade maintenance. Machine runs and cuts like-new and is ready for many more years of service. Fast shipping, good packing, five stars. ... show more

  • Handy, easy to use kit
This kit contains everything needed for a maintenance tune-up of my Honda mower. All OEM Honda parts, even the oil. I have changed the oil about twice a season, but except for that this is the first time I have replaced the other items on my seven year old mower. Everything fit perfectly and if you have the proper tools (14 mm socket, spark plug socket) it doesn't take long at all. And the price is right. I did decide to also get new blade bolts and spring washers, which are not included in the kit. The bolt blades are supposed to be tightened to a specific torque range, so I also sprung for an inexpensive ($30) click torque wrench, which I will have for the future. One thing: I notice that some reviews complain that the blades are not sharpened. They are not supposed to be razor sharp since they would dull very quickly since grass is abrasive and there is also a likelihood of dust and small stones. They are however sharp enough out of the box to work the way they are supposed to. ... show more

  • Great kit
Great kit reasonably priced for the convenience of your mower's first yearly maintenance. Here's some tips I learned the hard way. Before doing the maintenance run the tank dry to reduce issues with leaking fuel. You need to literally turn the mower upside down to drain the oil, and on it's side to change the blades, so if you don't run it dry, fuel will leak out through the carburetor soaking the filter, ruining it. Next time I do it I'm going to remove the old filter and stuff the compartment with part of an old t-shirt to absorb any fuel that makes it's way out. This kit is convenient, because you can switch the blades out and not worry about sharpening them right away. You always have an extra set. Steps in order: 1 run dry 2 remove old filter & stuff filter compartment with disposable rag 3 drain oil 4 remove blades 5 remove caked on grass from underside and all nooks and crannies 6 spray underside with WD-40 to help keep grass from sticking 7 install new blades 8 fill oil (do not over fill) 9 install new filter into a dry air filter compartment 10 replace spark plug (a half circle turn past finger tight is a good torque for most spark plugs, seating the crush washer nicely. You can also loosen the old spark plug and re-tighten it to the same position to get a good feel for how tight the new one should be) When I soaked my new filter I washed it with soapy water and let it dry thoroughly, but it was still ruined because when I ran the mower it would bog down and the RPMs would go up and down. This was due to restricted air flow, because when I removed the air filter it ran perfectly, so I just had to buy a new filter. Overall an the kit is a perfect fit. ... show more

  • Everything in this kit works great and is easy to replace if you use common sense + research.
I use this every spring, never had an issue with the filter or sharpness of the blades. The new spark plug always helps, I think that's most important. Replacing the blade every year instead of sharpening the old is a little wasteful, but QOL, ya know? I make sure my old blades get picked up by the scrap medal guy in my neighborhood. Need to address misinformation in other reviews: 1) I really hope people aren't judging blades based on how much it bends when they hit a tree root. OEM will bend too... maybe less? Who cares? Stop hitting tree roots and get a string trimmer, jeez. When you don't hit roots, this blade stays sharp enough and works great. 2) The HRX217 (and every mower I've ever owned) has a fuel cut off valve. You absolutely do NOT need to run the engine dry. Take the old filter out, turn the valve OFF, flip it on its side. A tiny bit may come out of the carb, but it will evaporate by the time you're done. Simple, no old shirt required. 3) You do NOT need to fully flip the mower to get enough oil out, and that actually doesn't work. Turn it on its side and lean it over just enough to get the last bit that drains. Turn it BACK right side up for a minute, tilt it over again. That works better due to the design/shape of the engine. Look it up if you don't believe me. Repeat until your OCD is satisfied. Getting 95% is just fine if you're not OCD. 4) If you don't get ANY gas in the new filter, it works. If you do, that's on you... you ruined it, OEM or not. ... show more
