I wanted a strong bookcase to hold my law books. Something that will not collapse in a year. This metal bookcase fits the bill. It’s a little bit more costly than those made of particle boards, but you save the money from keeping to replace them as they collapse or bend. Also, it comes assembled so you don’t need to deal with missing parts or read an incomprehensible diagram or instructions.

I am using the bookshelf for binder storage- I needed a lot more room. This cabinet provides the room. It is not super heavy duty, but it holds what I need it to. I have the 6 shelf model, so it is tall and must be secured to the wall, especially if you are in an area where earthquakes are a possibility. It arrived in excellent shape and works for me. The shelves are easy to adjust if you read the directions.

Unless you're a public library, this bookshelf will hold up for years to come. Well built and attractive (though I could do without the big "Hon" metal label on the front which is okay for office use but not at home.) Fast, well-packaged shipping and very minimal assembly required!

Love it. I bought two and they are perfect for holding media, books, trinkets. Sturdy. The two I have are in my living room and are 1/2 media, 1/3 books, and has about 30 lbs of collectibles on top. I will buy more for my bedroom when I have the need. If you are sick of crappy particle board, IKEA projects, and low-quality merchandise, I highly recommend you spend the extra money for these beauties, because they are worth every penny.

Its a very nice book shelf although the shelf holders are not secure and the shelf holder fell down when I added stuff. The way its supposed to be is that you slide it underneath and it pops into place but it is not secure so I placed the shelf over it on top. It does not pop in but because the top of the shelf has a slope that goes down sort of toward inside. So it is actually more secure the wrong way than the right way. As you can see its holding all my textbooks and extra books fine now at the top shelf so now I don't need to worry anymore about having to need them at a bottom shelf. Edit, the 3rd shelf down fell again and it had relatively light weight on it... maybe about 5- 10 pounds which is less than my top shelf and still fell after a while. If you get this do not get the adjustable shelves. I should have known better. Took away an extra star for this... Now I am missing a holder.

I left a poor review for the seller, as the bookshelf was delivered pre-assembled with the bookshelves in place, but they came loose in transit and produced all kinds of scratches on the inside of the bookcase, and even small dents in the back; nothing the books themselves can't cover up though, save one tiny (fingerprint-sized) section where the paint flecked off on the outside. However, the bookshelf itself is great. The only reason is doesn't get 5 stars is because the clips used to hold the shelves in place are plastic; I'd prefer if they were metal to guarantee a longer lifespan. Nonetheless, the package states that each shelf can hold up to 180 pounds. It's very sturdy, yet not as heavy as you would expect from a solid metal bookshelf; I'm a 120 lb woman and I was able to maneuver it myself. Looks sharp and stands up easily after being packed to the gills with books.
