I love the soft grey colour of the fabric and it's SO soft. I'd almost rather have it as a light blanket, it's so nice on the skin. The fabric isn't very sheer like a lot of bed canopies; it's a luxurious but simple cotton, so light does come through, but not a lot. The little star lights are very cute and a nice brightness. They're battery operated, which is great for many practical reasons, but they are "meant" to be clipped along the canopy. They even give you a few very, very tiny clothespins to fasten the string lights to the canopy, which is a losing battle, but the battery pack is way too heavy for the clips. Even if you use your own hardware to get it to stay attached to the canopy, it weighs the whole contraption down and threatens to warp the hoop keeping the shape of the bed canopy. It does (the lights clipped around inside the canopy) make it a magical, soothing, comfortable cubby being inside the drawn together canopy with the star lights above your head, though. You have to be careful about not rolling over on the canopy and ripping it, but that might be more or less a problem depending on how lovely you find the feeling of the fabric.

This is a great treat for little kids. It turns the bed into a clubhouse. Great for story time and for sleeping. The canopy is made of a breathable material that is good quality. The metal ring at the top (giving it the round shape) is detachable which means the fabric part can be washed if it gets dirty.
