I ordered this shelving unit yesterday at noon and it arrived by 3pm today. I am extremely happy with the quality of the piece and speed of shipping. The shelving unit is heavy duty and the shelves are beautiful and smooth. They secure to the frame and I appreciated that this unit has support on the sides and bottom for each shelf. Some other shelving units have shelves that only screw in from the side with no support underneath, and that just leaves possibility for bowing of the shelves over time and stress. Two things to note: 1) Everything other than the screws to secure the unit to the wall, are allen key screws. They do provide tools to put the entire unit together but it is A LOT of screws, which is great for stability, but will take time to assemble and tire out your fingers if you do it all by hand. 2) I highly recommend getting heavier duty drywall anchors, even if one screw for the safety bars can go into a stud. I provided a photo of the drywall anchors and screws set I recommend. If you plan to attach one of the sides of a safety bar to a stud, you will definitely want a longer screw than provided. Especially with the height and weight of this shelving unit, including the items you will have on it; you will want all the structural support you can get. Included are closer pictures of the unit with a lot of books on it. A picture of the room for perspective, with nine foot ceilings. And a picture of the drywall screws I recommend for securing this shelving unit to a wall. I always recommend securing furniture, especially if you have children or live where there are earthquakes. But especially if you plan to place this in a carpeted area like I did. Overall, I highly recommend this book shelf. It was the best I found in this price range across multiple companies and selling platforms. By hand, this unit took me two hours to assemble with nosey children interrupting me throughout the process. Lol. I recommend some extra items to make the process quicker, smoother and safer. The sturdy drywall anchors I mentioned and an allen key drill bit/drill (used carefully so as not to strip your screws). The instructions are simple and all the parts are labeled as well to make assembly easy to understand. Fantastic product!

I’ve been searching for a storage solution for my bedroom that wouldn’t be bulky. I kept coming back to this unit. I needed something slender & decided on the 7 shelf unit for the extra height. I liked how beautiful this unit was as well as the extra support brackets on the back & under each shelf. Another plus for me was the little bit of height below the first shelf as my plan is to keep my shoes there. Reviews were mixed on the assembly. Personally I had no issue. The directions are drawings. Included within the many bolts & nuts are 2 hex keys and a small wrench. All is labeled which elimimates confusion. Reading through the directions thoroughly is recommended to fully understand how to assemble the unit. One thing of caution: when assembling the side supports, make sure all the holes located on the back of the unit are facing the same way. These holes are the holes for the bolts of the back supporting brackets and need to all be facing the same way. (I hope I didn’t confuse you) Upon completion & placement of unit I barely had to adjust the feet. As it was I only adjusted 1 foot to level the unit. As of yet I didn’t secure the unit to the wall but I may in the future. (Only because I plan on using this as storage and in time the unit will hold heavier items) I would recommend this unit. It feels solid and is perfect for my needs. It’s beautiful and would be perfect in any setting. I chose the wood and black frame and love the look of it. Would buy again if I need another unit.

The box arrived at the office with minimal damage. When I opened the box, pieces were undamaged and pristine. The instructions were not super clear on which direction the pieces needed to be placed when being put together so pay close attention to the pre-drilled holes and their relation to where pieces are being connected. The images in the instructions were not the most helpful. Overall, it took about 1.5 hours to put it together after I had to take a few steps backward to reassemble some of the pieces. The shelf is tall, not super wide, and quite sturdy. Fasten it to the wall to prevent minor wiggling. The shelves are strong and have no problem supporting the books and XL three-ring binders in the office. I bought it for a smaller office and it does not disappoint. It is pretty to look at and is more space-effective than the short steel cabinet I was using. A nice touch. I would recommend it to anyone looking to save space and I may even consider buying a second one.

Once built and the bolts tightened I found this unit to be very sturdy for something this narrow and high. It looks like the photos — nice design of the metalwork and also attractive wooden shelves. Now, as others have mentioned, you need to pay attention to the orientation and symmetry of the side rails when putting it together. I was focused on making sure the back strut holes were towards the rear, but forgot about the vertical orientation of the crossbar holes, and so had to re-do one side when I realized it wasn’t lining up. I was able to put it together by myself without any problem. I am very happy with the unit and how it now looks filled with books and display items.
