Description

NOTE: This book was previously published by Five Star Publishing with a different cover. The electronic rights have reverted to the author and it has been re-released with a new cover. This was the author's first book. Detectives Brandon Berger and Dawn Luke are investigating a mysterious death that leads to the doorsteps of the Magnolia Faith Church. Tight-lipped parishioners and lack of evidence stop this case in its tracks. Further north, William Chandler takes his wife and their infant daughter on a camping trip to the Skybald National Forest. After a series of strange events, William is arrested for murder. He swears he’s innocent, but the evidence is so damning, even his wife thinks he’s guilty. The Magnolia Faith Church might be the key to proving William’s innocence, but making the 251-mile connection could be deadly. Told from two points of view, HOLLOW CRIB is fast-paced and suspenseful, taking readers down separate paths toward a single unexpected and explosive conclusion. Read more

  • Hollow Crib by BJ Bourg
Excellent.... I have read almost all of this author’s Clint Wolf and London Carter series. This was equally good with a very surprising ending.

  • Not my cup of tea
I like police mysteries but I don't care for stories where you jump back and forth from what appears to be two separate stories in the beginning. If the remainder of the books in this series are like this then I don't want to waste time trying to read them.

  • BJ Bourgs books are great
I kind of started backwards with his books. I started with London Carter then Clint Wolf. And now this series. All are so good. Many surprises. The other books mentioned the events in this book. I'm a huge fan of this author. I hope you read them all in order. In the past I was pretty good at guessing who did it...I did not in any of his books. Enjoy ... show more

  • Two books in one
The two stories came together at the end. This was a good mystery and I enjoyed it. I just finished all of the Clint Wolf books so I had that mind set, but this was a different story. I am not big on small children murder so I had to work through that.I am looking for the next case in this series.

  • Great book!
I found it slow to start, but then it turned into a book I couldn't put down until the end.

  • Amazing story
Two dead in the state park and one man is on trial for them. The known facts don't mirror the truth. The denouement is reached, and then it just ends. Abruptly.

  • Lots of unfinished story lines
1. Why didn’t Claire recognize her baby when she found her and picked her up 2. Why didn’t detective London follow up on the park rangers about the names and cars parked in the parking lot 3. What motive did Claire have to testify against her husband that he pushed her in to the River and he killed their daughter. 4. The coroner claimed the baby was smothered, but if she died from being sick how could she testify the baby was smothered. 5. Why didn’t the person who was caring for Gracie not come forward in over a year to return the child to the mother. 6. Was the care taker jailed for kidnapping or conspiracy. 7. Did they jail and convict the preacher “father Nelson. “ I think these questions should have been answered in a summary at the end of the book. So many unanswered questions ... show more

  • It turned out to be a good story
It was a bit disjointed in the beginning, but It all came together at the end. I will definitely read more from this author.
