I thought that Hoka was a Japanese product because of the packaging! The shipping package was used to wrap the shoebox like a gift while keeping the shipping information visible. The inside bubble wrap was also used to wrap the shoebox. Many Japanese vendors wrap their products for the customer. An origami star was inside, further proving to me it was from. The shoes I purchased are stylish and the most comfortable shoes I have! I was very surprised to hear that the brand originated in France with a headquarter in Richmond, CA. Now it is under the control of the Decker Corporation in Goleta, CA. I can swear there was a Japanese involvement somewhere in the shipping department. The shoes may make me like skipping rope again. To answer the title question, there is an overwhelming amount of styles on the Internet, and I did not know where to start. Now I found local stores to try them on and have a baseline. Something I noticed: I ordered size 8.5 but received size 8B.

The men’s hoka shoes are more comfortable and feels like it had more padding on the bottom. I still have pain in my feet wearing the women’s hoka. The men’s hoka was instant relief. I will stick to the men’s hoka shoes.

Would advise anyone getting Hokas for the first time to be properly fit at a shoe store first before purchasing shoe online. Sizing is very different for each model. Had to return because sizing was so off.

I had to buy these to help balance out a walking boot on my other foot. They run a half-full size smaller for me than altras, brooks, and 5.10s. They aren’t my style, but they seem well made, are comfortable, and very light compared to other shoes with their height profile.
